Late on the pan and mounts, but you need the 62-66 set. Pan and mounts.
67 up stuff puts it in the wrong place.

I had a drive shaft made, uses a Toyota flange that creates the slip yoke.
I wouldn't run a B&T now a days.
 
I have a trunnion drive shaft I can cut apart if you need, it's in the scrap pile so..........
 
I had Denny’s Driveshafts make mine for my 64 Valiant supercharged 4 speed 8.25. It is a slip yoke and works great.

I certainly agree about running a slip yoke type drive shaft over the B&T......but that said, it can be argued the B&T design, while certainly archaic, is stronger than the slip yoke. Certainly just as strong. They did, after all, hold the power of the MAX WEDGES and the Race Hemis, as well as all other performance engines prior to 1965.

I beat the hell outta any of mine any time I need to. That's what tools are for. Use and abuse.
 
you can always get a piece of round bar to pound on ( if you don't want to pound on a socket ).
I really like this trick RRR, I will be adding it to my toolbox of tricks.

Like said a piece of 1/2 round stock would give a perfect size?? Or maybe 7/16 round stock?

REGULAR old black pipe /nipples , gettem almost anywhere in a size you want ------------
 
Good video Rob. ‘Pic is worth a thousand words’ I bought my front floor pans, but made all my other repair pieces. Had a few other places I needed to ad ribs. I don’t have an old beast of a vice like that. Love the flat top of back jaw! I beveled the corners of a couple wood blocks and screwed them together for a form. Used whatever scraps of rod I had and old brass punches for beaters.

My dad thinks a red interior would look good on this car but I kinda feel like red is overdone and very common out there which is why I'm thinking of not going with red interior

and something crazy with girl style? I,'m thinking about sunfire yellow with a yellow ModTop like the late 60s cars
 
So I started cutting out the rotted floor which is only rusty on the passenger side. I found more soft spots so I just kept cutting.

Earlier this week, my cousin told me he has a friend with a 64 valiant parts car with beautiful floors, so him and his friend torched them out of the 64.

This is a really time consuming process, but an excellent time spent for the 4th of July morning and afternoon.


I'm getting excited to have this thing with nice, painted floors.

Well I thought the original white on my Dart was bright until I got a Tundra . It makes the Dart's white look dirty . So when I repainted the Dart I used Toyota white and now it pops.
For comparison the Yellow and White pic was taken on a sunny May afternoon , the Tundra was taken in June years earlier , The Turquoise & White was taken at 1 pm in January so the lighting is deferent then the May lighting but the part in the sun is definitely brighter . Duplacolor makes both spray and brush touch up paints that match the Toyota paint.

Body and paint friend of mine years ago told me "If you really want white paint to pop, add a little tiny bit of blue to it."
Into the white paint that is. Our race buggy was painted as such, damm thing practically glowed in the dark :lol:.
 
I removed the 65 front end this morning.

I am going to get some paint stripper this week and strip the 63 front end at a different location.

The 65 stuff is going to storage for now, so it looks like i might need to buy a 65 valiant sometime down the road :lol:

At some point someone enlarged all the fender bolt holes so that's something else to fix
