1963 Valiant Wagon "Candy girl"

-
Roadtrips in old cars with no time restraints, looking for old cars, parts, boneyards, food, meeting new people, and seeing old friends, sites you never seen before....living.

So I found that harbor freight sells a simple scaffold set up. I was looking on Craigslist and found a used one for 50 bucks.

A scaffold is just the ticket to comfortably work on the roof of a car .....

I've made an effort to work on this car at least 45 minutes a day since Jan 1.

Sanding, sanding and more sanding.
The car was originally white so I need to get the blue off for sure, and then it's a layer of teal green, that needs to go too but I might leave some of that original white enamel. This car is going to be white.

The factory white is the best base, for your new color, leave it.

Thanks for the idea of using scaffolding! being cheap I'll empty a piece of skid racking and use that.

What happened to the wagon?
I got it running and driving and barely stopping. Drove it around a farm and made a lot of dirt ruts, it has a lot of power and then a brake hose collapsed. So now it's sitting in a barn with flat tires and needing more work, like a disk brake swap.

Part 2 to come. Maybe sooner now that you ask about it.

Hope you're doing OK. :)
