1964 Valiant "Get Runnin & Drivin"

Oh wow that looks great!! I love it. Where did you get your carpet I really like that. I thought about getting mine in a roll and cutting it to fit. But I really like how that looks.
I've considered cutting my own carpet before. I'm not sure if I could get good results though. I'd like to replace the gaudy blue carpet in my truck with black.

Great work Rob! I'm tickled to see you making some good progress. I'm gonna have to pick your brain when it comes time for me to narrow my 8.8

With all that red you better stay away from any bulls

Ha! That's funny. With what I eventually plan for a power plant, the bulls can bring it on. When you get ready, just let me know.

Nah I seen him in another thread whispering about a turbo for his slant six if I recall. Maybe a little Bill Deadman trubute?

Doesn't it always? FWIW, I DID get it runnin and drivin. I drove it back and forth to work everyday round trip right at 20 miles for just about three months. It's still pullin on me not to mess with it. I am acquiring all the parts to put "somethin else" in it, but it still may not happen. The little 170 runs so good. Same scenario as my F250. I have a warmed up Ford 400 under the work bench. I could swap it out in a Saturday afternoon.....but the DEADGUM 351M runs so flawless and has GOOD POWER and is FUN to drive, so I just keep drivin it. lol

I would think a top-notch running 225 super six with the head cut .060 would scoot that light car like nobody's business while being a sweetheart to drive everyday

Heck, it's like that right now with the 170. It makes me smile every time I drive.

Give it the turbo!

I don't think so. The more I think on it, the more I believe I will leave it alone. I'm going to go ahead and build the turbo slant, since I have parts in the machine shop still. I'll also build the other engine. Building engines is fun for me. Gives me something to do. Maybe I can sell them for a good deal and help some of my Mopar brethren. Long time yet so I have plenty of time to make my mind up.

I'd say I'm interested in the turbo slant but really my ultimate goal is a supercharger build with either an eaton m90 or a 4-71

It's going to be cool when done. I honestly don't know where this will end up, but wherever it does, It's gonna be fun.

We got the proprietary holes cut in the carpet, gas pedal installed, seat belts, inboard sill plates polished up and installed and the seats.

It really is.
I've had a few..... And loved all but a '62 Nova that would jam between 1st and 2nd. Had to pull over and grab the levers and pull it back neutral. LOL. Had a '66 Skylark that I could shift so fast it sounded like an automatic, and that V6 would lay some good rubber between 1st and 2nd as well.

My 72 swinger special was 3 on the tree and the 1st/ reverse rod kept getting jammed up so to back up I had to turn it off and get out and put it in reverse and get burned on hot exhaust manifold while i was there, back up and then turn it off again and put it neutral and then take off in 2nd and I only had 2nd and 3rd.

Then i changed it to floor shift because it had a A230 that has provisions for either column or floor shift.
