Tonight was the first assembly day. The bracket for the brake pedel vent in as wellas the heater box. One question; how is the ground wire from the heater box routed to the body?

Ulf. It all looks so clean!! Beats the greasey parts while taking it apart. Very nice. Sgrip65

I believe behind and close to where the heater box is secured to the firewall then down to the passenger kick panel area. There should be a mounting hole for the screw.

Hi Don. What wire is it that grounds to the center of the retainer bracket where the heater core lines/pipes go through the firewall? There is a screw at the center of those two pipes and a bit lower of that center. That is where I grounded/attached that wire. Just asking right or wrong I do not know. JJ

That bracket and screw assembly that holds them to the heater core tubes also secures the brown wire that grounds to the metal under the kick pad. Bracket, screw and wire is on the inside of the passenger compartment and not seen unless you remove the heater assembly

Before we took off to our cabin I gave it a look. You are right. The cable should be routed close to firewall between the hearter core and the right air vent. It just fell through and I found the hole for the screw as well. Thanks Don!

Today more assembly was done. Front valence and the trunk lid is in place. The fire wall insulation is there as well as the gas pedal assembly. First wheel house moulding is in place too. The wheel house opening moulding all seems to have the mounting holes stamped from factory. But I can't imagine why the holes doesn't line up well. 50% needed to be re-drilled.

Anyone having an original antenna i good condition for sale?

i would think if the trim was removed from the car, the mounting hokes should line up correctly!

i might have several early A 3 (or is it 4? - I can’t remember!) shaft antennas. I will look.

Last night I was able to mount some more items thst was done late last year. I will get a picturefrom the inside of the trunk. There is something spooky with this one!

Ulf. Very nice. Showing progress for certain. sgrip65

More progress was made today! The rear panel incl mouldings and upper quarter panel mouldings. The transmission selector is in place too.
But, look at the inside of the trunk. The yellow trunk on my Dart Charger has mounting holes for all the nuts and screws. But the white has another interior on the trunk. Can it be a 1964 inside with a 1965 exterior? It really gets tuff to mount the inner tail lights!

Indeed, there is a clearly a difference. Maybe a 64 deck lid? Progress is great. Sgrip65

Today I did some polishing of the stainless steel surroundings around the windshield. For the lower moulding I need to drill new holes after installing the wingshield gasket. The reasom was that the previous owner changrd the upper cowl probably due to rust.
After this procedure it was time to install the dash. Now in place I can start contact all the wires.

Brings back fun memories. Nice work Ulf. sgrip65

i never got a chance to look for any antennas since now I am extremely limited with my leg. I am sorry my friend

I was able to polish the rear bumper, restore the license plate light, restore the rubber bumper between the bumper and the body.
Last week I straightened all the stainless steel mouldings around the front windshield, a 30 hours job.
The car was equipped with a factory trunk light. However the bracket for the switch is gone and I don't know where the trunk light was mounted.

Any information out there?

Very nice Ulf. Sorry I cannot help with the bracket/switch locate. Betcha our friend Don will know!! Little at a time and it will be complete. By my own experience, is amazing how these near 60 year old stainless and anodized shine right up. Good to see another 65 Dart saved for the next generations to see and enjoy long after we are gone. Good job. Sgrip65

This is how the stainless steel moulding around the front windshield ended up!
Today I found one used left inside tail light assy which I did restore to a good driver quality.
I also found where the trunk light was suppose to go. Now glass beaded and painted.
Next will be the front bumper and the fender/door vents.

First part of the wiring harness under the hood is in place. Some new connections, cleaning wires and new plastic band and it looks like new.
The bumper was cleaned and polished and put back in place. The turn signals is glass beaded, painted and in like new condition.
