Today I picked up a package from Dan! I've been into 65 Darts since 1980 and I have never seen vent shades in real life. Now I owe one set!!!!

Dan was kind to let me buy this pair. I might use them on the wagon!

I'm missing two clips for the fuel line so I glass beaded two of the.Under the dirt I found these marks! Anyone know's what they stands for??

Cool ventshades Ulf! I had a NOS set for a 63-66 Valiant 2-door sedan, I let them go to Memike and they are now mounted on his Victoria :glasses7:

I've got a used set that will eventually be installed on my wagon. They're a great period option.

I'm trying to detail the lower control arms on my car. I found these markings. Have anyone else seen these markings? There is a set on Ebay now for sale and they also has the markings.

The markings are made with paint not crayons!

Today while I was working on the convertible I saw the rubber gasket that seal the transmission shift cable to the body. The factory mounted them a special way!! One of the legs is pointing in one direction and the other two should just snap in the hole! Easy but I have never known it!!!

The seal I had as a spare was very good condition but the NOS shifter cable has new seals included!!

Marty! Thanks for sharing info where to find NOS transmission park cables. Unfortunately all of them has repoped ones!!! And they arn't close!!

I have started working on the convertible to get it ready for the summer. I've started to check out all the details for the A/C unit. While working on the heater hose routing I knew that I bought a repopped one that was a copy of factory ones. Well, this is the differencies between the two!

The left one is factory original and the right one is the repop. The diffferencies is the holes and the material. The repoped one is made in some kind of stainless steel.

But after looking at the differencies between the two I found out that there is no bracket on A/C cars on the inside of the right fender!!!!!

Here is a great picture I found on the internet. No bracket!

After having trouble with Ebay sellers that only ship within US I finally found a supplier that could ship one can of Cosmoline! Today it showed up!!

After reading carefully how to apply it I finally sprayed the oil pan. I felt the smell of cosmoline and after some minutes it turn that special color. It turned out better then I could imagine!

Late last night I found repoped transmission cooler lines from Classic Industries in US for TF904. To me they looks like the ones I had in my car.

Does anyone have any experience with them?

I believe I got mine from The Right Stuff (getdiscbrakes.com/transmission-vacuum/transmission-cooler-lines). I talked to Curtis. There's also inline tube. I'd heard that the right stuff lines fit better.

Now the oil pan for the transmission has dried. I got some areas with more and some areas with less. Just as the factory did it! This Cosmoline thing smeels old right from start! I'm really satisfied!

Today was a beautiful day! Sun on a crystal blue sky! And THE package showed up!!! Bring your truck they said!!

After getting to the post office I saw the big box. I could not figure out what I had ordered! This was way too big.

When I got home and opened the box I got me a true surprise! All the things I sent off to the chrome shop during one and a half years showed up!! Finally everything was here!!

The air cleaner looks like new. I just need to find where I put the decals!!

The rims for the wheels was another story. The surface all over the rim looks like brand new! Yihaaa! They had welded a hook to the rim on the inside so they could get a good chrome all over so I need to grind of that one. Next step will be to press mount the center dome to the rim and weld them back in place. Sweet!!

Those parts really look sweet! :cheers: Did you have the chrome done in Sweden or sent it all back to the US. If the US, who did you have do it?
 
The work was performed by Dalakrom in central Sweden. Actually not too far from the place where the Mopar at the Strip is held. They did an exccellent job. First copper and then the chrome! But it took quite sometime.......!

Today I assemble the front vent window frames. I goes smooth when everything is restored, even the bolts. The upper rubber piece on the frame are excellent used ones that is from a car that had 11000 miles on the odometer!!

During the assembly I needed to have some kind of lubricant for the lower chrome bracket that goes between the frame and the window. After some search I found some Mopar Multi Purpose Line lubricant. It is a whiteish lubricant as it was from the factory.

Now I just need to find the upper weatherstrip that is glued on the chrome frame!!!

Lol in sure all the little bulbs and fabric are from 65 as well
 
Started to test mount the center dome to the Wheel. IT will sure turn out sweet but it will take someskills. Lucky me that my old friend Bosse will help me out!

On the front vent window frame there should be a weatherstrip which is glued on. Does any one know if these can be bought new?

Today arrived the first color sheet I have ever seen with the 881 code for yellow! This is a PPG paint code sheet. On the backside was some valuable information.

It seems that the lower area of the instrument panel as well as ash reciever face, upper door frame, upper rear quarter frame. steering column and the roof rail mouldings were painted the same color. Medium poly gold.

The upper part of the instrument panel was painted 22464 dark gold. Anyone have any samples? I must admit thatI didn't take any samples of that!!!!

The last part that I'm not sure about is the kick panels. Were they the same color medium poly gold or the dark gold on the upper instrument panel??

Are you asking about the top of the dash just below the windshield where the defroster vents are located? Mine is a very dark brown. I could take a picture if it would help you.

I was talking with someone from Color Correct (732) 846-1044 and they had a listing for a color like that in suede but I'm having trouble remembering the name. It was 'Dark' something. Perhaps 'Dark Mocha'? There was some confusion though about what years that color was used on. If you call them let me know what they tell you.

They also have Pearl White paint to match the upholstery. I'll be needing that for the convertible side panels in my car. I don't think you would need it though which is lucky for you because It's definitely not cheap.

I don't think the kick panels were dark. I'd say they were probably the same as the lower dash and the automatic shift console base, but without any gloss. I got a nice set from a 65 parts car. The car wasn't gold, but the kick panels did seem to match the exterior color of the car.

I've had the same sheet for at least 20 years just because my GT convertible's original color is 881 yellow
