yep, there's a '65 valiant build on here too and he replaced the stock instruments with speedhut units. completely different setup though from a '66. 1965 Valiant 200

It looks like they had some extra '65 dash frames laying around and just drilled a couple of hoes to make the '66 trim fit?! This is the dash frame in my '65 Barracuda:
In door project today! Turned the kitchen into the upholstery shop.. Glad the wife is not feeling good and I got it all cleaned up before she came out to the kitchen! Pulled apart the original Arizona sun toasted '66/'67 bucket seats I picked up... the value here are the adjusters as they are a 2 year only item... I FINALLY understand what the a web of fine wires is for! They are (were) intertwined with the burlap to hold it in place! These are too far gone to want to spend an entire weekend blasting with my setup... I dropped them off at a power coating place to blast them with serious blaster... at $100/hour having them blast all the parts could have gotten out of hand quickly!
And yes I packed away the remnants so I can refer back to them if I need to. I have new foam and the install kit but the Legendary Interiors covers are in week 20 of their 32 week lead time.
Wow those seat frames have seen some wear and tear. I can't believe how expensive the bench covers are. Thinking about dragging my bench to Tulsa to get it matched has the cloth white blue stripes with lagoon blue vinyl. Never seen it on any car or catalog so far.
They came out of a convertible sitting in a yard... no top.
Well I decided to put factory AC in the Valiant and 12 hours later I found this which will give me every part I am missing PLUS all the AC stuff! Heading to northern Az Sunday to strip it down.
I found a guy here had his own home shop. Nice setup does interiors in Dewey Oklahoma I will have to wait till May but I'm dumping the cloth going vinyl both front and back bench. Something like this in blue. I love the blue can't help myself .

oh man you are now just down the road from my A Body drug dealer we got the Duster and a lot of parts from. He just moved to Broken Arrow. Let me know if you want contact info if you need A Body parts.
Hell yes that would be great these upper door panels I'm having to make my own. They are like glass they crumble. Some other things would be nice as well!

Weekend score to put factory AC in the daughters ‘66. Road trip up to northern Az to recover great parts from an unmolested ‘66 4 door with factory air and the coveted steering wheel. With side benefits of almost perfect bumpers, factory jack, seat belts sun Visor cores, fresh air duct. And a stop for exchanging some of the slant six specific AC stuff for some 273 specific stuff and a 8 1/4” axle for the big bolt pattern.

After weeks of searching for answers about the part numbers and applications of the MOPAR Heater/AC controller, I've learned there are no definitive answers and that those who have the controller for sale, part# 2587564, believe they are holding gold in their hands. I understand the scarcity of certain parts allow for a premium price, but I thought this was supposed to be a 'hobby', not a cutthroat business. I have seen that specific part# on the interweb for $350. Of course, that's the number I need. Or is it?
So here's what I've found and here are my questions - photos included.
Mopar AC/Heater Vacuum Switch pt# 2587564 replaces and is the same as #2096084 for 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967 Models: it is the 5 button a/c and heater vacuum switch for 1960 1961 Plymouth, 1965 Plymouth Fury, 1966 1967 most Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge vehicles, Valiant, Dart, Barracuda, Belvedere, Coronet, Satellite, Charger, GTX, R/T, Polara, Monoco, Imperial.
I've also found these part numbers which are supposed to supersede the #2587564… pt# 2096084 seems to be the most common and the first number to supersede the #2587564. Others are…

and this… Part Number: 2587564 [supercedes 2096084] Years: 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968
and this… Plymouth 1968-74 New MoPAR A/C Heater Vacuum Switch 3502126 repl 3431020. If you're not totally confused by now this may do it. #3502126 that fits '68 to '74 supersedes #2587564 which fits '60 to '67.
I've also looked at '66/'67 wiring diagrams and '68/74' wiring diagrams and noticed the wiring for these switches are pretty much the same. BUT look at the 3 pin connectors (see the photos). On the #2587564 the 2 pin is connected (like a jumper) where on all the other switches the 2 pins are separated.
Therefore, here is the question. Are these switches interchangeable? If so, you will be able to replace your '66/'67 switch for a fraction of the cost. The later '68 to '74 switch can be had for $50 not $400 for the #2587564.

May as well get busy... pulled the AC parts out of the dash and documented the wiring. Pulled the switch apart. The 2587564 switch so brittle it just falls apart when you touch it. A new NOS is $400... I got one that will bolt in but I may have to figure out the vacuum porting and replumb it and rewire it but I will not pay that much... I do have my limits.
Ordered a Detroit Muscle Technology rebuild kit and pulled the box apart... No surprises thank goodness. All the actuators hold vacuum.
