1970 "DUPED" Dart Swinger

Today one of my boys started adding some neat details on the valve covers. I saw these online and thought they looked awesome so we did another set. (I did the same thing to my 440 covers for my 67 Dart) Not done yet.... we will add the blue later this week.

I took a few parts to work to spray. I wasn't happy with the Eastwood ceramic paint and how it looked brushed on by the kiddos. I epoxy primed them, then used our color build sealer which can be made into basically any color... then I sprayed the eastwood paint... it works drastically better when sprayed.

These are just primer pictures. I will take some of the color after they are done baking.

Color looks much better sprayed, I would find another timing chain cover, that one is starting to rot from corrosion.
Almost all the chain parts stores sell them.
 
I had a few hours to work on this project today. I sand blasted all of the accessory brackets and such. I sprayed some Omni epoxy primer on them then some Rustoleum Tractor gloss black. Almost finished with the air cleaner and valve covers too.

Tell your boy he did a jam up job on that air cleaner!
 
The air cleaner is nice, details make the difference.
 
What's the trick to painting those stampings in the balancer?

Well it sure worked. I've tried it before and it wiped ALL off. LOL
 
A little progress. Figuring out all the brackets and spacers.... lots of belt alignment issues but I am getting them sorted out. At least I know why the belts squeaked when you wacked the throttle.

Once this is done I have to paint the k member (keeping it installed and just painting the top side)... then wire the new Mopar ignition box and set it back in. The goal is a small local cruise on June 10th. Heading to Mopars in the Park Friday through Sunday with my boys for a much needed vacation away from home.
