It's been a long time since I updated this thread. This weekend I installed new springs from ESPO. Nothing is torqued down in the pictures. Just lining things up.
 
Did you go with stock height springs from ESPO or increased height?

I went with 6 leafs and stock height. It sits a little higher than with the old one's. But it will probably settle with some time.
 
I ordered ESPO springs in 1+ configuration. It will be a while until they get bolted on to my completed body.
 
It was a straight forward install with the Espo springs. I have not had a chance to drive it yet though.
 
Just a quick update and some photos. It might be hard to see how it sits. But I think it looks good with the new leaf springs. I went with 6 leafs and stock height from Espo. The tires are 245/60-14.

Better photos of the stance. I just love to daily drive it in the summer time. I think my next upgrade will be to get hold of small bp 15" wheels. Or upgrade/machine my current 4" bp axels to 4.5". It's really hard to get hold of anything 4" in Sweden.

Did some small fixes today and tuned the car with the new Street Demon.

This is now current combo:
273 Commando - 1965
Compression: 10.5:1
Heads: Gasket matched and ported
Valves: 1.78 in intake, 1.50 in exhaust
Cam: Solid lifter Comp Cams Magnum 282S - 282/282 Lift 495/495
Beehive Springs
Edelbrock D4B intake / Street Demon 625 carb
PerTronix Ignitor II Billet distributer & Flame Thrower coil - Taylor plugwires
Hooker Headers
2.5" Dual Exhaust / Super 44 Flowmaster
727 auto / Shift Kit
10" Turbo Action Street "S-800" converter
8 3/4 - 3.55 - SureGrip
6 leaf - leaf springs from Espo
B&M Quicksilver Shifter
BF Goodrich 245/60-14 out back

It wants as much as 23 initial, it doesn't kick back or ping and total is limited to 36. It's all in just before 2500 rpm. I don't use the vacuum advance. Tuned idle screws for best vacuum, the Street Demon was way rich out of the box. Picked up rpm idling as I leaned it out. Brought the idle down to 850 rpm and tuned for best vacuum again. It has a really nice and crisp respond. Me and some friends then went for a ride :)

The last Friday of the month it's a Mopar meet here in Stockholm. I suck at photography, but I took a few pictures. The GTX next to my Duster had a Hemi. So did a wicked Cuda.

Under the red paint is an old Edelbrock D4B intake. I'm gonna try and remove all the paint and refurbish the intake. I also plan to paint the valve covers wrinkle black. I just want to try a new look.

My valve covers were really rough under the red paint.

I applied paint stripper to the manifold while I worked on the valve covers. Before I left for the night I applied a second coat and wrapped some plastic around the intake. I dont know if it will work. But I want to try it. If it fails I'll blast the intake.
 
Nice to meet you at Brostugan even it was for like 2 seconds. You came up to me just as I was leaving the event.

This is turning out better than I thought :) With a chrome breather and oil cap to top it off!
The paint stripper works, but it needs more time to cure on the intake manifold. I kind of wish I just blasted it from the beginning and be done already.

Another Swedish here (and Duster owner at that!)

I follow your project with great pleasure. I was a bit curious about the paint remover.

The old kind stripped the skin of your hands but since we joined the EU, there's nothing stronger than water from the Baltic Sea to remove the paint with...

What kind did you buy and how good is it?

Hej Magnus. Thank you for the kind words! I bought it from Biltema. Well, I left it curing over night and then I rinsed it off with hot water. Some of the paint actually came right of and left bare aluminum. More would probably come off if I had pressure washed it. The paint that's left is sticky and wet. I'd say it works but it's messy and it takes time. I tried it because I was not sure that sandblasting the aluminum was a good idea.
