Stock as in bone stock with unported stock heads. Fresh valve job and new timing chain and new oil pump and new gaskets and freeze plugs.
Just to get the car rolling and tweek the motor befor it goes in the little red and I get the next engine ready to go in.

Are we talking stock, or STOCK? 29"??? D@mn, mine are 24-25... I would think 34-36 and you would be ok...

I have some 35-12-15s on my Trailduster maybe I could use. We could race cross country. lol

The MT's are 26" tire on the back of my Duster. With 2.76 gears, I'll join your cross country race :D
  • I HATE this term, but I'll say it. I consider my 360 "basically" stock. Stock heads, stock dished pistons, stock rods, crank. Cam is LESS than a stock 360 4bbl, so I still consider that "stock" (or worse.. lol). I do have a 750 DP Holley sitting on a Eddy RPM intake which I don't think that would out perform a TQ/Cast intake on this engine. So, I consider my 360 stock. What ya all say?

You never ran Track in high school did you? Cross country was a cross the country side not a cross America.

I consider your engine as basically stock. Your intake is not going to help you other than losing a few pounds weight over the Chrysler 4 barrel intake.
We both have the same short block and the same heads.
Difference in the short blocks would be that yours is fresher than mine is.

The difference is going to be how the two cars are set up.
And of course my Superior driving abilities will go in my favor. lol

So I am running a stock converter/904 like you. So it comes down to this:
4.88's vs 2.76

I like your combo, kinda reminds me of the econo performer Monte Carlo build hotrod did in the late 70's.
I'd like to see a set of 3.55's though.

Yes stock converters but you have a 904 which is lighter than my 727 and has less parasitic loss.
Yours is a stock converter right ?
904 is a sure 2.5 tenths over a 727. 4.88's should be a full second +++ over 2.76's.... Holy Cow! That's over 2 turns of the drive shaft! Cowabunga Dude!
Yep, a factory stock converter. If I had a PTC or Ultimate, I'd be cutting 1.7's instead of 1.9's.... :D

And weight.
I'm not sure what jabas plans are but you are running a complete street car. With full interior etc
If jaba is has his stripped down with no interior he will have a slight weight advantage.

j par, I will let you know which charity to send the 40 bucks. lol
If anything, jada is going up in smoke. posting a lame 2.2 60 ft. lol
never gonna catch willrun.

2.2 60 ft? I plan on being a least .2 out of the gate before 318willneedstoputitingear and be pulling away.

Jada cleaned the driver side windows... He going around in circles, fast circles! At least as of now

The only thing your car will be doing is SPINNING. lol
I know what happens with 4.88's and a 8" vert. spin, spin spin and you won't win. lol
UNLESS ! you have tire and a good chassis setup. well ! do you ?

Although I won't be using the eight inch converter with a stock motor. The 8 inch converter goes behind the 340. The 4.88s never had a problem of spinning. It was too busy hooking up and carrying the front wheels.
It hooked up hard enough to flex the body and cracked the windshield so I don't think spinning is a problem this car has.

So, you're driving a twisted pretzel

Mine weighed 3240 without me, nothing in the trunk and 1/4 tank of gas. With me and a 1/2 tank were talking roughly 3500

Alright. That "universal" drive shaft loop on a '76 with uneven floor boards is not fun. I removed it multiple times, modified it by cutting the length, flipping pieces around and upside down, but I finally won. It's up, out of the way, and ready for tech inspection.... LOL. Not that any of them would crawl under, but if they ask, I can say "it's there" and they are welcome to look.

I had 45 minutes before the rain started up for the next 4 days. I fired up the yahoo yazoo an in 30 minutes had both front yards mowed. May need to bale the back yards next week but the fronts look good for now.

It finally quit raining here, supposed to not rain again until Monday.

We might have better luck with a canoe race.....
