340 engine mount bracket

Thanks Rob! That's the info I was looking for. That reference pic needs to have b/e added to it. Would save a shitload of confusion.:elmer::BangHead:
The ones in the top pic are B/E body and DO NOT work...

The one you have in that bottom pic is the correct part for an A body. If you want to look it up. Section 9-64-0 in 1969 parts manual, text page 9-12, or about page 325 in the PDF online.

Well, I am hoping on an order I placed recently for the right mounts but in the mean time I've decided to see if I could make my own from the extra parts I have.
I need to weld this, but I'm hoping this one does the job for the drivers side. It looks like from the center of the top mount bolt to center of the bottom hole is 4.5 inches..roughly..that look right to you guys? Anything else look right/wrong?
Thx!

Once you're sure it's lined up correctly, I'd weld the two pieces together instead of relying on that single bolt.

ChuckDock's post did say he needed to weld it yet. He was just looking for some reassurance before he did weld it.

Exactly what I did years ago when changing out my 318 to a 340 made it welded it drove the heck out of it

Thanks all, part is getting welded today. Heck, I may actually get the engine in the car this weekend, at last!

Fyi, the mounts worked like a champ! Motor, trans, headers and driveshaft are all now installed and it looks like everything lined up nicely!
I'm just bummed I procrastinated so long to attempt to modify the engine brackets. It was easy to do.

Yes. It's very easy to do. And people spend big money for original ones.
