You are a man with a plan! And the drive to go get it, very nice work. Dont let headers scare you....Pro-parts! just fix 2 tubes...Gonna get me some of them there J tubes, I need some shock support after I cut my inners out.

Thank you pishta. Those pro parts headers are pretty sweet. I wonder if its possible to wrap those two tubes around the steering shaft instead of going through the inner fenders. Maybe replace the pot connecter with a smaller u-joint to get more clearence?

Not too much progress, just tacked in the lower control bar brackets. The bolt slides through all three adjustment hole's smoothly. Next step is too weld on the torque arm bracket and get her under the car.

Anybody have an opinion on mounting the coilovers in front or the rear of the housing? I wanted to mount them in the rear, but I would have to cut out some of the back brace, so the front doesn't seem so bad now.....

Digging the suspension setup! Put some aluminum heads on that thing and it should handle decent. Or put a 440 block in the trunk lol!

Subscribed this is one sweet build keep posting up your progress. Ive been gathering parts for my low deck single turbo 62 valiant build and your giving me some good ideas I havent thought of
Aaron

Got the torque arm bracket tacked on and the rearend mocked up finally. Locating it under the car was probably my least favorite part of this entire project. We set it 1/2" back from stock, to center it better in the wheel well. Lower bars are cut and ready to weld!

It looks great keep up the good work ive been thinking about doing some kind of ladder bar setup on the valiant. Also when I moved the springs inboard I moved the rear back a inch also for more tire clearance.
Aaron

Thanks srixon4406, I'm relieved you moved your rear back as well. I wasn't going to at first but I figured since my leaf spring boxes and lower bars are both adjustable, I can always move it back and forth if need be.

If your going to run a large tire I think its a must to move the rear back atleast a inch I tired to set the rear up and I add the tires on mock up just to see how were going to look

thats a 275 15 in the wheel well id say it fits pretty good

Torque arm crossmember is in! Made out of 2"x3" .187" wall tubing. The holes on the sides are for gas/brake lines etc. along with the 3" exhaust cutouts. It should also double as a driveline loop, even though I don't believe it meets NHRA requirements in that aspect. I may add some gussets to it for more strength.

Looks great! I'm in for updates on this as I might have a line on a 65 dart GT from my friend and my brother has a 440 and trans sitting at his place.

Thanks guys. I bet everyone is chomping at the bit for me to get the headers going but I want to get the chassis work out of the way while the weather is nice.
