Thanks toolman, ive definately been fortunate and found very little rust on the car, appreciate the info also. It appears to have had a sway bar but was removed sometime before i got the car. It also appears that the option plate was remoced from the driver side fender in whatever repairs were done in its accident. I did however find a factory spec sheet tucked away inwhat was left of the headliner, im not sure anybody ever knew it was there, i found it by accident. Ill have to upload a pic of it maybe you guys can drop some insight.

You bet! Build sheets are fun to figure out. We all will help. With no fender tag it's good you found a build sheet. TMM

figued out why the dash lights were not working, the headlight switch had oxidized and was not making a connection. $8 and about ten minutes of work and everything lights up.

Good you figured out the problem. Those old cars are full of wiring gremlins.
(no relation to the AMC Gremlin.) LOL Most of the time they are bad or loose connections. TMM

Holy Hell DDartdude what is the rear tire size ? I have only tried 245-60-14 and gonna try some g60 - 14 I had lying around and still look brand new ... too bad they're poly tires though

Here's my 66. Have had it 14 years. Started out a /6 auto Now is a 318 pistol grip 4 speed I need to get better pics of it on my computer..

Hi I just picked up a 66 dart 270 with a 225 /6. I was wondering what you had to change out to do a swap from the /6 to a 318 (I was planning on doing the same thing) Did you have to change the motor mounts, or do anything to the driveshaft and rear end?

I have had my Dart for just over 2 years. I just put a new AM All transistor radio in and a re-painted / re-chromed dash. Not much left to do.
