Too bad they make your marshmallows taste like gas.

Not a whole lot of work on my car except cleaning up some interior pieces and sorting out the good from the bad. The only problem with that is I am finding out that I need to spend even more money that I don't have. It seems like i'm being nickle and dimed to death on all the small yet important pieces that I need. Guess that's the name of the game with Mopar's. Worth it though.

It's that way with all makes. I run into that on whatever car is in the shop. You get close to the end and find out you need all this stuff to finish. Customers hate that...... :protest:

I knew it was getting to be that time in the build so I started cleaning up as many pieces that could be saved, used or given away to someone that isn't concerned with everything being pretty and I gotta tell ya, after looking at the car and how nice it is getting to be, it doesn't make sense to put medioker looking parts back on. It would ruin the overall look. I guess I should have left a few rust panels on it so I could get away with using them....
Just kidding...........
:burnout:

I got my inner wheel well panels all prettied up and installed with the window garnish today after work. I don't have the trunk drop down/door made yet and no carpet to put down but it is beginning to look like a car inside again. I still need to save some money to re-do all the seats and door panels. All in good time I guess.
I was really hoping for a miracle so I could hit the road this summer but so far it's been slow getting anything done. I'm still holding out hope though. #-o

That leather looks good stretched over those panels. You're almost to the point on your car where you'll realize that you'll never be done. After you get the interior finished and have it on the road you'll keep finding more things to upgrade. If you live long enough, you'll eventually be considering more power, a different suspension, an overdrive, etc, etc.... It'll always be a work in process.

I worked all day today, from 8am till just a few minutes ago, but I finished the heater core problem. Let me tell you, that was a son of a B-otch....
I didn't order a new dash top yet but I'll order one soon because mine pretty much bit the big one from pulling the dash out and reinstalling it.
I can't say it was fun but it was an adventure. Now I can spend some more time on the barracuda. Here are a few pictures of it being pulled apart and a few of how tight it was getting into some spaces that were NOT made for my big hands that's for sure. Also a few of the failed heater core. I ended up cutting the heater core tubes off to extract it because the old hoses were almost impossible to remove from underneath the windshield/firewall area. They are recessed back about 7 or eight inches. Laying on top of the diesel engine isn't my idea of fun so out came the sawzall and I cut them off from inside the cab.
Sorry, there aren't any pictures of barracuda progress this time.

Believe me, I was protesting, or was that swearing?
Anyways, it's done and it works well. I did a 60 mile test drive today and it checked out as I hoped. Now I need to purchase the new Dash TOP.
All in good time. First things first. I need to spend some quality time with my 67. we've been missing each other. The only problem is that she always makes ME pay. She's high maintenance and requires a lot of new parts and rubbing.

You two need to get a room! At least she'll never leave you and take everything you've got when she goes.

Teresa could use a few new parts too...

Well, we don't know that, John. She could pull a "Christene" on poor Riffy. :sad6:

:D

I kinda like it rough so Christine might be alright.
I do hope she likes to burn rubber. L.O.L!!!!
I fired her up today and she smelled "likgas" and she is cold blooded so she likes to be choked. Ok, I think I've officially grossed myself out with the word play.
On a more serious note, I got my resized driveline on and figured I would run the car thru a few gears to be sure the linkage is set correctly but there was no go when put in gear.
and I realized that I forgot to add trans. fluid after I hooked up the trans. cooler lines.
Sometimes I feel like a dope....
Now it's to late to run into town to pickup fluid because they are closed early on Sunday.
Guess I have something to look forward to tomorrow after work.
:sign3: :banghead::banghead::banghead: :eek:ops:

Dammit!!! I knew Christene didn't look right but I couldn't figure out the correct spelling. Thanks!

I usually blame my faulty keyboard and malfunctioning auto-correct.

I drove the 67 today!!!!!
Ok, so it was only up the driveway and then backed back down and back into the garage again. It was awesome to actually drive it for the first time EVER....
I never went over 5 miles per hour but I don't care.. It was very exciting to sit behind the wheel and drive it up the short driveway under it's own power.
NOW,,,,, I can get the exhaust put on it.... I'm gonna dream good tonight..........................

Believe me, I almost got no sleep last night. I was a bit to excited. Kind of like a kid on Christmas eave.
I almost did it again when I got home from work tonight but I figured I'd give my neighbors a one day reprieve from breaking the sound barrier two days in a row.

I guess it depends on who your neighbors are. A few of mine always tell me they look forward to hearing me fire mine up (not ALL of them).
