67 Dart Post Project

I love that color grey on the darts..are you going with a black stripe on the back?

Nope, no stripe at this time. If I do add one later it will be vinyl so it's removable.

The car has been ready to go to the paint booth for a week now but I had to go to Europe for business. Just got back last night so I can hopefully get it there today. Not sure if the painter will be able to spray it right away but I sure hope so!! Can't wait.

Dropping it off at the painter today. Hopefully they are not too busy and can get it done by Saturday which is what I was originally told by them.

Car is at the painter. They expect it to be ready for pickup on Tuesday. Excited is an understatement.

Decided to start working on the dash while the car is at the painter. Was nice to find that the dash frame had no cuts or modifications and the wiring harness was in perfect shape too. I'm in the process of ordering one of the new Peak Dashes inserts that will delete the heater, radio, and glove box. Link to dash insert here http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=6374 Should yield a nice clean look.

Finished up prepping the dash for paint and got a coat of etching primer on it. My dash insert from Peak Dashes shipped out tonight also!

Lookin great! That new dash is going to be sweet. I'm thinking about getting one but my car has a whole different theme.

You Gunna make sure it fits good before painting the dash? Just in case you need to tweak on something?

Hmmmm... That's probably a good idea

Thanks, it's exciting to finally see everything start to come together. It's been way more work than I ever expected.

Put on the sealer tonight. Just have to sand it once more and then hit it with color. Trying to decide which black to use.

The body and the bottom of the hood and deck lid are painted!!! I couldn't get a really good look at them because they were baking with the lights off but I really liked what I could see. The painter said it looked really good and they usually do $20k paint jobs there so he knows his sh*t. The rest of the parts get painted tomorrow and I can pick up the body tomorrow also. I'll post pics ASAP

I could use some of your work ethic! Shes looking good.
Ever consider putting a scattershield on instead of the stock bellhousing just in case you take her to the rack?

I will take it to the track on occasion so a scattershield will be an upgrade that i do before then. I think the stock bellhousing should be fine until then.

My Peak Dashes insert just got here. I think I'm going to put a nice brushed finish on it and paint the gauge pods a matte black. I'll test the fit tonight after I pick the car up from the paint shop!

Picked up the body from the paint shop. It sure is shiny! It was hard to take good pictures because of all the reflection. The pics don't do this color justice. You really need to see it in person to appreciate it. The rest of the panels will be done tomorrow so I can start putting it back together. I also sand blasted and painted the piece that bolts between the fender and the inner fender. The passenger side one was rusted through in a few spots but I just welded it up and it looks good as new.

Looks great! What are you doing for seats? Love the post cars.

Ian

I'm trying to find a set of original buckets but I'm not willing to pay $400 for a set that needs complete restoration. For that price I'd rather buy a new set of aftermarket ones.
