I have a lead on a 68 Dart that is very close by. I think it is a 340 4sp. Only thing my non-Dart trained eyes see is the missing round side marker lights. Currently over $12K in this auction (ends this evening):

What do you guys think it is worth? F'in cops stealing a guys stuff cause they can... totally wrong.
 
Very weird! In the pictures you see a 67 GT with a 69 hood ( based on inserts) with a 340 and electronic ignition. Hard to say what the car actually is!
 
For an auction, I'm surprised that the bidding is that high.....

Dude, I totally agree......if that were mine, it would be a lifetime of vengeance for all those involved! :axe:
 
'67 grille, fenders, quarters, taillights, rear bumper. The hood is what is throwing everyone off I think.
 
That car is a 67, you can see the vin tag on the drivers side piller.
 
I sent them two messages on that car being a 67 and probably a VIN swap and they didn't care. Their response was:

This is a seized vehicle. As such, it is offered with it's
current state registered VIN. It is sold as/is where is and it is
up to bidders to do proper due diligence as to whether this asset
meets their needs/requirements. Whether someone buys this to
show, drive or only needs it as a parts car is not relevant to
the seller. Thank you for your information. If it does not meet
your requirement, I would not expect you to bid on it.

What really bothers me is that they did not publish the question to the auction. All bidders are hidden so there is no way to notify them. I'd be extremely pissed off if I had a 67 that had been stolen....
 
It's a nice looking ride, but that government agency looks more crooked than the folks they seized the cars from. They don't show all questions and answer the ones they show poorly....
 
The problem with that auction site is I think it is as crooked as the agency selling the cars they stole from somebody. if you look at the bid history there is a tendency for someone to immediately up any bid put in by another guy. I, and others on a local forum, think this is phantom bidding to jack up the price. At around $8K I would be all over that pretty 69. This car is just up the road from me. Too bad.
 
It's got 67 buckets ,67 dash , looks like a 4 speed inland shifter. They went a long way to making other than the engine and hood and stripe a very correct looking 1967 dart gt.
 
The car has the same 67 headrest bucket seats that my 67 fish parts car does but mine are black/maroon. Went over $16K with an $800 buyer premium. Wow.

Just curious if anyone knows the backstory on this car since everyone knows that the po-leese just stole it from a fine upstanding citizen?

I would like to see it to. I'm betting they probably had the wrong vin# listed for this car in the auction, Mistakes happen.

Weird they wouldn't clear it up though after being questioned.
 
They claimed that the VIN listed is what was on the title for that car. If there's a 68 VIN on the door jamb the car definitely has been tampered with. It still bothers me that they didn't care. If this car were stolen then somebody is out a car that the authorities did not rully investigate when they were called on it.
