Assuming he used a sonic tester?
Was the tubing purchased through a local steel supplier?
They Absolutely use a sonic checker. They can also do a fast check to see if it’s mild steel or chrome moly.

Someday I hope to be building cages for cars that go that fast. Even though my car won't be all that fast, my plan is for it to be a rolling advertisement for my work. That's why I'm choosing to do everything I can myself and become my own boss and work from home.I had that green 1974 duster certified for 8.50 before I sold it because it was never certified. While he was here I had him do my 1974 heads up car. I was going to have it certified for 7.50 because I thought the 6.50 cert was only good for two years. When he said it was good for three years also I went ahead and got a 6.50 cert. both cars easily passed.
I do need a sonic tester for sure.Yes, I measure and double check my tubing and sonic check it in various places along the length before I even started cutting the tubing up.
NHRA has changed several bars over the years for a 25.5 (7.50) cert. 3 of my buddies 7.50 re-certs failed due to these changes, but we built mine a little different and my OCD for having things a certain way allowed mine to pass all 3 times now.
Yes lol im saving pictures for when I'm done today.Do you even make progress bro? lol
Ok good. Just a friendly reminder....I still have your "Slacker" license plate here. lolYes lol im saving pictures for when I'm done today.

Thank you, I was sorta nervous lol but it was good.Just catching up with the thread. Excellent job on the chassis work!
Good point! You may want to rethink about burning in the sliders just yet. Wait until you get full weight of the car on the springs to locate them. Otherwise you may run out of travel on the sliders…. Ask me how I know. lol
That's funny, I might have to do that & hell maybe it will be fastIf all else fails race it at renegade without the body panels and call it the "dart kart", I'm sure roadkill would approve!
Keep the floors open and name it Barney. (Barney Rubble) lolThat's funny, I might have to do that & hell maybe it will be fast
