71 Dart 410 stroker ..

Things are looking up.....Actually got everything finally done under the car....Starter Neutral Switch had all the prongs broke off it and I did not see it while we were getting everything hooked up and done....and then the new headers collector is right in front of the switch...but I was able to wiggle a 1 inch socket in there and R n R it.

I got to swap out harmonic balancers are I put the wrong one on the motor....me stupid...lol

Radiator ...fan and alternator ......make some noise.....

I am still recovering from being sick last weekend but gotta go....and the weather for us is cold this week.....possible snow tomorrow

Fired right up...got the timing set....let it run long enough to get hot....clicked it off....finished tying off some loose ends and back in the trailer she goes..

Looking good there but we gota have more video for those of us still waiting for parts and looking at snow out the window
 
That it for now....radiator has a small hole in it....pulled it out this morning and will take to radiator shop in morning....

Ugh I had to put 2 rads in last season 1st one was older and crapped out put a new one in lasted 1 weeked when the electric fan came loose and took out the new one just before the bracket finals,you can bet that new fan ain't goin anyplace this time
 
Fired up ...back it out....loaded in the trailer.....March 16...is the date....
 
Moved trailer....unloaded car....washed car...fired up and reloaded car and tied it down......

so friday night weather permitting...TnT...Saturday Morning TnT....Saturday afternoon Bracket Race...and Sunday Morning Bracket race.....

3 passes tonight and nothing broke...lol

60 ft times were not that great...but it was cold out and the track is green....
 
Great always good when nothing is broke.CAn you give me a little more break down on the car,i see it has 4.30 gear now,what size tire? also what is the car/driver weight.I'm concerned i might be over geared for my set up from the 360
 
nice,did you make adjustments or did the track come around better,i see the speed is up 1mph.:)

Engine ran great...had some small glitches in the car....header bolts coming loose....breather caps ...neutral safety switch....

Weather sucked friday night TnT....Saturday TnT and Saturday Night Bracket race.....windy and cold...like which way is the flag pointed now...

Car ran great...Tonya made it to the Quarterfinals...and then red light....

The track is green....if the car 60 fts...it goes in the 40s...I would say the front coil overs are too stiff...and the shocked need to adjusted....we got 3 bracket races next weekend...

I had troble with the neutral safety switch last season ended up using the one in the shifter.
Are you running at the new 4 wide track? Coils too stiff are you thinking not enough pitch rotation? What is the rear suspension ladder bar?
Did the 4.30 help bring down the trap rpm
 
The only cars that run 4 wide are Top Fuel ...Funny Cars and Pro Stocks....all other classes only run on two lanes...including us low life bracket racers....we ran on lanes 1 and 2 which is where the old track used to be...but the those lanes are brand new also...next weekend we will race on lanes 3 and 4....using the bracket racers to put rubber down on the track.

I use the nss on the trans...we noticed on the last pass that park was not engaging also....cable on the bracket on the trans probably came loose...no biggie...yes the car has ladder bars and double adjustable coil over on all 4 corners...the front is really stiff and is not transferring any weight..I need to look and see what spring rate is on it....and we will made a shock adjustment to loosen up the front.

As you can see it is a beautiful track...this was taken Friday night....the concrete is soooo smooth...in fact in the burn out box with water under the tires ....there is no tire smoke until you come out of the water and hit the new rubber on the track.

taking the picture I am standing at the center divider between the tracks. And since everything is new including the wiring for the timing system there were glitches in the electronics....was down for a while as they figured that out plus on Saturday the dial in were on on the scoreboards...Sunday they had alot of it fixed...plus do to the lousy weather from Saturday night they never finished the race and had to finish it on Sunday. They are still wiring up lanes 3 and 4...LOL

If you don't mind could you give me a run down on what the rest of the car is/what your seeing rpm wise
vehicle weight with driver,tire size, shift rpm/cross rpm,thanks
 
according to the tell tale tach...7000 thru the traps...shifts at 6500....that might get adjusted a bit...
weight with driver is less than 3000 lbs....10 x 29 tire..

I dont know what the converter flashes too...it is an old TA 3800 series converter that would flash to 4800 behind a 360.....bought it back in 1983...LOL
 
That track looks really smooth,here is a shot of the staging lanes at our track,not quite race ready,lol
