How is the hood coming along?

Haven't touched it or the car since last weekend -post 1098, I'm spending a couple weeks in North Carolina, helping out the Folks at Pope AFB......I started taking measurements of the inner hood support before I left, the next step is to make a new support to fit the ram air bulge better.

None of them posted ? I can see them, I didnt post any with the wheel and fender off, basically suspension shots, is that what your looking for ?
I was going to wait for the Super slammer to be in place for that

I was just trying to bring back the pics from your previous post so I didn't hace to flip back thru the pages...I probably edited out too much text...so the pics didn't come thru

Heres the pics again since Denny cant see them.....I added a couple suspension mock up shots ...more to come on that set up once complete. And yes, that is Denny's hand in the first pic

Will Denny have to drive over each time you need a measurement..... cause we have been there and done that. It needs the body stance )

the real pieces are a lot sexier....this mock-up was just to make sure we were on the right path and everything cleared as planned......before we plugged in the lazer cutter

Damn, I should have used a photo that didn't show the Chineese/Taiwan "bungee" cord.....I was trying to edit out other things and let that one slip by. At least I manage to hide the bubble gum and "Duct" tape or is it "Duck" tape ?

It's all good Ross. Like every thing else on your car, it's amazing. Are you back home yet? Can't wait to see more.:coffee2:

Nope, here till Friday (March 23), I saw a very disturbing thing driving by Ft. Bragg's gun ranges the other day ...there was a whole row of older (like mid 80's) Dodge D100's lined up being used for target practice....what a shame....I've been looking around back yards for some old solid mopar muscle..:thumbrig:

I know how you feel about the old D100's I feel the same way everytime I cross the reservation and see them. Well used to see them. Theres alot of cool old mopars that roll around Fayetteville. You just gotta be hanging around town to see them.

I also saw a Demon in desperate need of a restoration, but luckily it was on a trailer. Hopefully it was going to a good home not the scrap yard. I was in your neck of the woods on Saturday..headed up to Pine Hurst then down to Reaford on my tour.

I saw a 73 or so Duster in the corner lot of a salvage yard a month or so back in Raeford. It looked like they where trying to sell the complete car.

I wonder if the Loadmaster would mind strapping it down it the C-130 for the ride home ?

Talk to the Loadmaster, just might surprise you. Stranger things have happened. If there is room the you just might swing it.I use to haul everything from pick ups to Duece &1/2's out to Hill AFB and Dugway proving grounds in Utah. Sad to see some of them go. Most were fired up and driven onto the trailer. Enjoy your trip home.:coffee2:

Still trying to pick out a color....heres a couple colors I had mixed up before I left and finally got a chance to shoot some sample pieces..the Orange one is Header Orange for Dodge and Crush for Jeep, the yellow-er one is Dozer and is a Jeep color both are 2012 colors, The Dozer looks almost exactly like Ford Grabber Orange that is on the hood latch bracket....I think the Dozer color is a definate no go, and the Crush is too Orange.... I love orange but thats the last thing the Mopar world needs is another Orange Duster. Black is looking better and better....the closer I get to paint, made a couple mini taillight shaped exhaust templates...these might actually see production.:thumrigh::thumrigh::thumrigh: As far as the hood goes .....no updates, the inner support has me stumped for now.

Hey Ross,

Just my .02 here.
What if you put the exhaust closer toward the middle of each side of the bumper, for example in the picture above moved more to the left and right four inches and a little farther up the bumper.

But then again the exhaust will be high either way here. Imagine standing behind the car to put something in the trunk with it running. the exhaust would hit you on the leg instead of the foot.

Again this is my two cents for what it is worth. I still love the build and enjoy seeing the progress more than my progress lately.

Timothy
