I forgot to put that "disclosure info" in John's email... Oh well, looks like the cats out of the bag now. Keep in mind that is an early sketch, it definatley wont have black bumpers and mirrors, As far as the Avitar I figured that would slip by most people...you know, hiding in plain sight.

I made a little progress today on the Dart, Mike Ross from B E & A restored the Grille. I would have gotten a little more done but I had to get packed since I'm leaving for Mecum auction in Indianapolis tonight, watch for me on TV....there might be a cool old car out there thats calling my name.

Just don't go to another sale after you paint it.

We are going to have to have you fitted for blinders.

No just have my painter get a fire under his *** and quit giving my time to look around, if he would have had it done I couldn't change my mind.

I am a fan of the car..... admittedly, more of a Duster/Demon big block kind of guy....but you guys have really brought me around.

Whose says I'm close minded?

Managed to finally fill the mystery hole in the Dash...now theres two cigarette lighters in the Dart. I finished up the front end by mounting the headlight bezels and bumper. Also installed the front fender splash shields. Anybody who hasn't ever been to a Mecum Auction or other major auction should take the time to attend one....even if your not there to buy something, it's an awesome car show but you have to be open minded and like all makes of cars since theres not alot of Mopars

looks great
nice work

Thanks, I'm trying to keep everyone entertained and interested while the Duster is still in body shop jail. I'm glad I decided to have the grille redone in the correct 1970 paint scheme, almost all the 70' Dart Swingers I see on here go with a 71' paint grille black center scheme.

I agree, the black out be hind the grill makes the grill really stand out.

In Memorium, no doubt, to the late, great Dick Trickle.

Ironic you should mention that, my friend I was at Mecum with was a huge Dick Trickle fan ...... His Step Dad use to race against him at the local Wisconsin track way back before he hit NASCAR fame. I actually have a Nascar Tire from Tricky Dick's car hanging in my garage.

I figure I would post some pics of the actual Duster, no Dart pics this time. I made an Aluminum Glove box liner with cut outs for the MSD 6AL to mount and plug in the wiring harness I decided to cover it with anti slip material to give it some grip. Also started working on the front bumper modifications, it's hard to tell but I removed lots of material and changed the angle to fit the body lines better, basically I rolled the top of the bumper toward the fender and left the bottom basically in the same location, there will be better pics to follow, I also will suck the bumper toward the grille 1", not to mention the addition of 5"
driving lights and smoothing the bumper bolts and filling the jack slots. The aluminum hood support I made fit like a glove and reduced all the flex.

I wish I could say the same about my car getting close...remember I'll be in
Pittsburgh June 3-7 so I'll have to swing by one afternoon for a visit

I welded up the bumper back together and cut out the area where the driving lights will eventually go, also welded up the bumper jack slots, for a comparison of how different it is compared to a uncut bumper I put the two next to each other....overall theres a 2" lenght difference, 1" per side and when the bumper brackets adjustment slots get modified by making the slots longer (see pic) it will be 1" closed toward the grille, I need to get Elevator bolt and weld up the bumper bolt holes. then figure which direction I want to go for lights considering late 60's Shelby mustang driving lights (Grille mounted) which are 5 3/4" diameter, they sell the buckets which will give me adjustability or a smaller 5" aftermarket driving/fog light, decisions decisions.

I did the same thing tucking in the bumper it makes the front end look so much better.

The bumper looks good as well. keep up the great work.

I like the glove box btw. my car has the after market a/c and the plastic glove box that came in the kit is not even close to fitting the whole thing.

nice work on the glove box and bumper.... but one question.....

Why do you guys have to modify everything?....I'm a purist, you know.

If mother Mopar would have done it my way in the first place, I wouldn't have to change it. Now that the front bumper is off to a good start, the only exterior panel/part of the car that hasn't been modified is the Roof. I should have made a raised ridge running front to back that matches the ones one the hood and trunk, Damn too late for that one !!!!!!!
I wonder what the diameter of the 70' Roadrunner/GTX/Satellite front bumper mounted marker lights are ? Anybody have one sitting around and could take a quick measurement for me ?

Forgot to add Happy Memorial day

Do you actually have a 70 RR front bumper (pic) to cut pieces
out of like you did with the Ram bumper for the rear exhausts?
