It went pretty fast with the exhaust, so there's not much I can say really other than I think it went to more finals without the exhaust than with it...it's just data available from the thread.

Another piece of data available in the thread is that you've lost at least one final while making a PB&J.

Accordingly, it may be of benefit to reconsider both the installation, or lack thereof, of your exhaust system; as well as the ingredients with which you assemble your sammiches;)

.009 is hard to beat. He might have got you even if you weren't waiting for the toaster for your sammich.

I like your exhaust system, and I haven't run my car uncorked in 30 years. Was it faster without the mufflers?

I think if I uncorked mine, and actually removed the mufflers and tailpipes, it might pick up a tenth. Mufflers and tailpipes are about a hundred pounds.

Too much going on to update, plus not many cars showed up so the rounds are going quick.

Into round 2 with a win.

I got a sunburn, was nice to see Bill, Brian, Adrian, Josh and Rich and meet Steve.
Too much pain, I'm out .

We were the first ones there (right behind my buddy Brian) and the last ones to leave. Had a great weekend hanging out with my family and FABO brothers, @MOPARMAGA, @19DUSTER73 and @lead69 (@Newbomb Turk couldn’t make it and I was bummed because I was going to try and get another hug from him lol).

Awesome weekend and despite the heat, Fred ran fantastic. I made it to the finals on Friday night and the third round Saturday so I’m pleased. Finally getting comfortable with the car and gaining confidence so hopefully I’ll start winning some races. Oh, and my buddy Brian won Saturday and got a Wally!

That was pretty fun despite the heat and getting scorched, I'm the redhead lol.
Thanks for breakfast Bill.

So the finals WITHOUT mufflers and 3rd round WITH mufflers? Just sayin'....

Congrats - you obviously did a great job!!

You got me there.... LOL

In my defense, I gave away the race in the 3rd round. I had been racing to the stripe all weekend due to not feeling confident my car would run a number and been doing well with it. Due to the heat (and other racers complaining about running hot), the track officials decided to run 1/8 mile on Saturday instead of 1/4 mile. When I lost, it was to someone that dialed 2+ seconds higher than my dial but I reeled him in like a tuna and forgot we were running 1/8 and stayed in it beyond the cones (thinking we were racing 1/4). I saw his win light go on and that's when I realized that I fked up.... lol

Been there, done that! I'm a Sportsman racer (1/4 mile) but had sat in the stands to watch Pro and Super Pro one day for about an hour+. Those guys obviously only get to race 1/2 of a race (lol) to the 1/8 mile.

They then called Sportsman up to race. I chased my guy down WAY before the 1/8 mile, lifted and coasted and watched him go by all the way to the end totally forgetting we were racing the 1/4 mile!! Pretty STUPID of me inventing a new way to lose!!

I race Pro but we do 1/4. This is the first time I've seen the track decide to shorten the race due to conditions (although I have heard about it happening before) so I struggled with reminding myself. I managed to succeed in doing so twice and then I forgot. lol

Next year I'll remind you except I probably won't get to see you run anymore besides hopefully having a t&t grudge race with no grudge or dress lol

Congrats Bill on making the final. That is awesome. Hell of a feeling to be one of the last cars down the track, whether you win or lose. More finals will come

How’s that saying go? Even a blind squirrel will find a nut eventually? lol

Thanks RJ! I appreciate all our conversations. You’ve helped me to learn more about my car than I could have on my own. It’s truly helped me to understand what it’s doing and why as well as giving me the confidence I needed to wheel it.
