**73 Scamp Mini Pro-Street Engine Swap**

Verified that it is the shift shaft seal on the transmission that is leaking.

I don't want to pull the transmission so the Pan will come off so I can drop the valve body and then I should be able to punch it out from the bottom. I think a C Clamp will help me re install the new one is my thought.

Does anyone have any other ideas on how to do this? I am open to any and all ideas!

Thats how I do it. It works really well. The only automatic I have met that didn't leak is one with no fluid in it. lol.

Here is the solution to your problem.

Well I have not been on here much at all. My business has exploded in the last 4-5 months to levels that exceed the RE Boom. It is crazy. Sooooo......... I am hiring my Buddy Pete to get it back and going on the Road. He needs the work and I need to get in a car an tear it up...
He will be doing the following starting really soon. After he is done with it. He will also be finishing up my TT Project that is so close to being done. See that thread for that update.

1) Install New Fuel Cell/cut box in the trunk around tank/sump
2) Installing Caltrac System, shocks etc. Reworking any hangers etc so it works correctly
3) Installing the HIT.... NOS & Stand Alone Fuel System.
4) Installing Line Lock
5) Battery Shut off for trunk batt
6) Fixing minor Trans and engine oil leaks
7) Installing Upper Tubular A Arms.
8) Installing Strut Rods.
9) Anything else it needs to pass inspection at the track

Well...... Pete finally got over to my shop yesterday. Got the parts list done so I ordered all the parts for the above that were missing. He is supposed to come over on Saturday and install the complete NOS System "Stand Alone" Lil Fuel Cell for VP110 on the hit, Purge Kit, Stand alone pump, regulator, FP Gauge, he does a lil return line after the regulator that gets restricted in the line and then back to the fuel cell. He was telling me the FP will be rock stable the way he does it. I believe him since he has been doing NOS Set ups since they hit the scene. He fine tunes with fuel pressure is what he was telling me.

What do you do that is so hot now (RE?)

I am eagerly awaiting more road warrior reports.

All parts are here for the NOS and the Suspension. All should be installed by tomorrow. Pete will be here at my shop at 8am tomorrow morning.

Suspension is installed, all 4 corners Done! NOS is 3/4 done. As you install these kind of upgrades for some reason things change as you go. 1 more clean up parts order is needed.

Got the Trans shift shaft seal leak fixed too. The new dipstick marks were wrong. I drained some fluid, no more leaky. I also fixed the sending unit fuel leak from where the back brace hit the sending unit wire. Took it apart drilled the ground strap off and used a shorter stainless bolt and the factory sealing washers. Tightened it all up and re installed it. Filled it back up with fuel... No more leaks.

I also bought a canton oil filter plate., it will get installed tomorrow. I'm going to be popping 2 more holes in the valve covers and weld 4 - 1 1/4 tubes onto them for external breathers. I'm gunna be revving the **** out of this motor so it needs to breath, Lol!

The install is not done and buttoned up yet, it is still in progress. I bought a used 3 Stage Retard for 100.00. It has the first 2 Retards wired and ready. The second and 3rd Retard have ZERO chips in them now but 2 is wired & Ready for a chip. Reason he does it this way is to have a good assortment of Retard choices when playing with how much you are going to spray. The chips are cumulative so say I put in a 4* and a 3* would =7* of Retard on the Hit.

The final parts list has been ordered.

if you do the quick silver you should build a bad *** shift arm for it. its pretty easy especially for a guy like you that has all the fab skills.
