A 1974 Duster - My 2nd one, 41 years later!

The new Edelbrock EFI Kit arrived. Stripped down the manifold, dropped it off at my powder coater's place.

Looks nice! I'm churning a multi port EFI setup around in my head for a future 451 build for my 68 Roadrunner. If I ever hit the Powerball lotto....I'll buy an EFI system with a Hellephant attached underneath! LOL.

Test fitting new EFI manifold. Edelbrock did not allow enough room for the Distributor...had to do a little grinding. All good now! Probably going to have to do some grinding on my MP valve covers. Its all good, I will win!

As Cal posted, I had to grind on the back of the manifold as well.

I also had to shorten two of the ARP manifold bolts. They were just impossible to get in. They hit the runners of the manifold. Cut off about 1/4" and re tooled them and they went in. More pics tomorrow.

So with intake installed, on to the valve covers. They won't fit without a slight modification. I also used FelPro #1646 double thick valve cover gaskets to help with this clearance issue. Both gaskets and valve covers were slightly notched to clear the intake runners.

I had to do the same thing, to the same kind of valve covers, back in 1992, to make them fit around a factory six pak intake. When I had a belly full of that setup, I put an LD340 on the motor....and it needed the clearance Clarence also! :BangHead:

Well, My Coil was the wrong primary resistance and inductance, so have been on hold until the right coil arrives. Today UPS says they are delivering it.

New injection system all installed. She’s a runnin’!
Took her out for a spin, visited Higgs. Car is running nicely. Thumbs up at every stop light.

Cley, The Pro Flo 4 is truly awesome. Install was easy, all the parts are nice, the read out screen via the 7” tablet is awesome, the other FTech system has a lousy screen read out. Tuning is indefinite. Not even comparable to the FiTech unit I had before. Hands down, Pro Flo 4 is a better system for sure. It costs more, but you have to consider you get a very nice intake manifold and a very nice Mallory distributor and the ECU is separate and sits on the fender apron, not inside of the throttle body as it does with the other unit. Heat and computers don’t jive so well.

When installing the PF4 all grounds must be there. I had forgot to ground the engine to the chassis, that needs to be done. Also be very careful with the coil you select. Primary Resistance & Inductance is very important, so not “any” coil will work if you are letting PF4 provide the spark and are not using a CDI box, which I am not. Wrong coil and you can and will burn up the ECU. Directions say if you are using your own CDI box then you can use any coil you want. It is $512.00 to buy a new ECU, so coil selection is critical. PF4 gives you a list of coils to use.

That all said, yup PF4 is a nice system, I will be buying the same system for my Dart.

I won't be making much Hot Rod progress for a while. I have shoulder Rotator Cuff surgery scheduled in the morning. Won't be able to use my right arm for a while. I will be back on this as soon as possible.

I had the vinyl call out stickers.....so put them on to see what I think. I know some will like it ....and some won't. I am not sure if I like it or I don't. What do you think?
