A-Bodies...Big Motors / New Hemi Duster - FINAL ASSEMBLY

-
Hi boys and girls! Just got home from the Nats and got unpacked.

As OMM eluded to (and I'm sure 76 orangewagon will confirm), this
car is almost impossible to accurately depict in a photograph and
none of my feeble attempts came out with any clarity. Let it suffice
to say that, in person, the graphics will knock your socks off!

I must admit that I was a tremendous fan of Don Carlton and the
depiction of his paint scheme in shadow brought a sadness to my
heart and a tear to my eye.

I was fortunate enough to see it Saturday morning and regretfully,
Denny (and HemiMark) had disappeared to parts unknown to yak with
their favorite (and maybe some not so favorite) vendors. I spoke to
OMM (John) and he gave me the guided tour.

I will tell you all that the ingenuity and engineering in this masterpiece
are unparralleled. From the chassis, the engine, the drivetrain, the A/C,
the interior to the trim and finishing it is above reproach. Oh! and I got
to see 62BT409's Hemi Demon Sizzler too as they were parked side-by-
side. The Demon will make you swoon as well!

I was present when some well known magazines began circling in, vying
to be the first to feature the subject.

As my schedule dictated I had to connect with some friends from the
east coast so I may not meet up with the Master until next year but
I will be looking forward to it!

Kudos to you all for some of the most interesting stuff I have ever seen.

Sorry I , We missed you Doc........

Thanks Floyd,
next...work on finishing up a couple of projects I have had to shelve to make the Nats....

I went for a 2 mile drive before we loaded for Columbus.....there ..only put maybe 20 miles on it and now its tweeking time...first we crawled...next we will walk....then hang on....cause it'll be time to run! Whommmpaaaa!
Denny--You Da Man!! Incredible workmanship and the epitome of Mopar spirit! Congratulations. I finished mine last week as well, fired it up, and shook the earth! Maybe you heard it all the way at the Nats! Check out my final pics later today.

RE: Mopar Missle shadowed Duster

I would encourage anyone who has captured more revealing images
of this phenomenon to post them.

Perhaps someone who has succesfully photographed a UFO.

anybody got any good dash ideas?....the quickie dash facelift was jut to make the Nats....

I wish someone would. There were a lot of passerby taking shots but
none of mine showed the graphics so I dumped them. The "in-person"
view just doesn't compare to any photos I've seen (yet).

kinda ghostly....huh?.....ya' know...you can see it...but it is hard to photograph

Oh, you know me I always have a few ideas..could do a Rocky Mountain copy like I plan on but that wouldn't be old school enough to go with your theme... so how about something with a vintage tachometer and gauge's with a garter belt hanging from the rear view mirror ?

are the graphics painted on? from what i can see in pictures it looks fantastic.............
i also vote Cragars, all the way around :burnout:

Mark I'm at a loss for words. The car is a real thing of beauty! Stunning comes to mind. Congrats on the finished car and. I for one, can't wait to see what is in the future!

hey a68postcar....this is Denny ...and this car is mine.....and I aint changin my name

68GSS440...no paint....stickers.(vinyl graphics).....wasn't 100% positive i would like it...this way I can eliminate/change them easily....however I kinda like it....and they will stay....for now anyways
.....I can ghost about any race car scheme I want...so can everyone else....but I wanted to be FIRST (since it WAS my idea)

Orangewagon...I just want somethin thats...." race..ee".....and looks period (1972) correct

the public has spoken...HemiMark and 68GSS440 anyways...and the cragars are now "all around"

now yer talkin'!!...i can almost see "the Missile" lurking under there

that was in the parking lot Thursday night. -Don

Didn't get to see you guys Saturday night, see you during the next project!

Denny I have to agree with the cragars, they look awsome with the whole ghost theme. But more than just a ghostly look I think you truly captured the true essence of the car. When did you start channeling Don. Lol

i hope my buddy HemiMark needs my assistance in Plum.....possibly for some help on one of his projects.....
