A Body WAGONS-Ho! A body Wagon Thread

-
Here is my 62 Lancer 170 Wagon. A couple of pictures of work in progress. It's over in members restorations if you haven't seen it with all my progress to date. Lots of work to go, but it's been fun and should be a real nice ride once it's done.

Here is my wagon at the local track at a recent club race. Yes it is slow, but has character.
Hope to get some rally rims on it as soon as I find 2 more center caps.
Planning on pulling the 273 this winter and replace it with a slightly warmed over 318. Already figuring on changing the rear end also.

Man it's been a while since I checked this thread, NICE wagons! They all have one thing in common; they are not rusty *** bondo buckets like mine... dam I HATE what the rust belt does to cars! Of course the previous owners trashed it but still... I may have to find me a nicer one to drive while I work on this beast...

mine had the drivers 1/4 replaced and the passenger wheel opening replaced before I got it and it needs some help on the drivers lower area of the tailgate....the hinge doesent do anything

I checked out your pics of the Scary Canary :) love the '66s! I feel your pain on the tailgate, mine is toast also...

Even with mine being a California car (built in LA and stayed here) I still need driver side floor pans and new fenders. My hood recently got crunched and the candy canes are screwed. (literally the PO attached them with sheet metal screws) I am thinking I might get a whole front clip from another year or even a Valiant. Tailgate is rust free but dented though.

Heres a few of my "Wagon of Death" in its various guises and stages, its an Aussie spec VF Valiant

The "Morgue" thing was a Halloween cruise idea that just never came back off again,so I played with the theme a little...got a few looks I guess, scared small kids and made ppl laugh at the lights...

Some door cards I made from 60s horror film pics I collected off the internet and covered with PVA glue...

And the dash as a work in progress...covered in school book contact, cheap easy and I liked the look...

That will be a fun project! I love the early wagons. What are the plans? By the way, I was born on the Air Force base in Biloxi way back in 65. My Wagon and I are the same age. But the wagon was born here in CA.

I'm starting to pull the motor and tranny clean it all up get it driving then I'll start thinking about what direction I want to take with it.
I have been station on KeeslerAFB here in Biloxi since 1989 and will finish out my career here, and this car is one year older then me.
I will try and post pictures tomorrow with the motor pulled, I have the seat removed and that great astro turf pulled out so I'll be posting pictures of all that also.
Thanks

Transformation of mine a few years ago.

very pretty wagon. did you shave off the door handles? also what tire/wheels did you get on there? they look great

I love this..I have recently became the owner of a '65 Dart 270 Wagon. My wife loves it and can't wait for me and her dad to start bringing it back to life.. I am looking for a few parts but my budget is very small at the moment so I am pacing myself of what I buy.

Would anyone know where I could find a roof rack for my Dart?

looking for a roof rack for my 65 Dart 270 Wagon...Anybody got one that isn't too far from North Carolina for a resonable price? I can't seem to find one anywheres...

Thanks, yes door handels were shaved, would never do that again except back doors only. I would not shave drivers & passengers if I were to do it again.
The tires were 205 & 235-70x17 , anything else on the rear and they rubbed. The wheels were American Racing "Hopster" wheels. This car had been converted to large bolt pattern.
This was the engine.
