I'm agreeing with you

Never said you did, Brooks James said 530 hp at tire, I'm saying crank.

Probably torque will be in the mid 600.
WOW ! I can't put 600 tq on any drivetrain part exc 8 3/4 axle, unless I get on it from a roll

It’s not uncommon to see a 15-20% loss at the tire.
So, to end up with 530RWHP, you’d start with 620-660hp at the crank.
I’m not seeing it out of that combo.

I'd be very happy with 425-450 rwhp
As long as I can fry the tires and leave 2 long identical black stripes
On the asphalt !!

Thanks

Yes, I forgot a nitrous controller and an MSD 8680, dash controlled timing plus minus 7.5 degrees

Thanks !
IMO I would say no to the cast crank and hyper. pistons , I went as fast as 10.70s with a stock bottom end 360 crate motor but it didn't last long before we upgraded everything to better parts like a forged crank etc. I am not a big fan of nitrous , I saw the damage just spinning a bearing on a non nitrous stock crate motor did I couldn't imagine the destruction done should the cast crank let go using it.

Wallace Calculator shows 11.70 for 450 HP on my Dart, yes assuming after tuning and or modifications

I'm prepared for an explosion, I have a 360 Magnum, an a LA 360 E58 (cop motor), one here mag, E58 in storage

If your engine makes say NA 380-400 hp you only need a 100-125 shot of nitrous to make 500 ho, seems like it would be plenty and relatively safe.

Proof of concept will be easily confirmed when completed…….

A few blasts on the chassis dyno will tell the tale.

shoot, 325hp and BFG's with 50psi will do that all day long and you probably won't even knock that much mileage off them hard *** thangs.

Looks like I'll have to detune my plan to 500 hp
Maybe just get the car running and driving, enjoy it and build a nice "well thought out" engine for the future.
Won't make much sense to throw together something and just blow it up, sometimes more than just the drive train gets damaged and no one wants to see that

my 100k mile 68 std bore 340 shortblock is loose but tight 169 cranking psi

with 3.23s dead stop punch will smoke 235 60 14s 80 feet in 1st@5500 rpm 15 feet on the 1 to shift if i so choose
Has 3.91s now 80 feet in 1st and 2nd@5700 rpm if i so choose
Lucky to have 320 crank
you are not running 11.70s on 235 60 14s

My crate 5.9l has no problem burning rubber with 245 BFG and 2.94 gears even in 2nd at speed.

plot twist: it's a mustang!

*pulls off brooks mask*

it was DTM all along!

[everybody groans, somebody faints, somebody else vomits]

DTM: and i woulda gotten away with it too if you nosey nellies didn't ask so many questions!

Way to go Scooby. You solved another great mystery.
