Add your abody driveshaft length for quick reference

72 Plymouth Duster

904 Transmission with 8.75 rear, 7260 yoke.

Mancini XHD Leaf Springs, which are a Mopar Performance XHD Spring with a 5/8" eye-bolt. (68-72 340 HP A-Body, BB B-Body & E-Body). There are stickers on each spring reading Chrysler Race Spring p4510268 right, p4510269 left.

With these springs, I could not use the stock A-Body Front Spring Hanger as the eye-bolt hole is too small.

Mancini sold me the AR Engineering Front Spring Hanger with 5/8" holes and the dual-location option (stock or 1.5" drop). This is considered the "extra-long hanger" as it extends about an inch back from the stock A-Body eye-bolt location. Also, the passenger side needed a 1/8" thrust angle shim.

So, these de-arched springs are considered 1" over stock height, I've gone with the upper 1.5" drop eye-bolt hole on the AR Hanger, and a 1" lowering block on top of that (plus 4* pinion shim), theoretically bringing the car to 1.5" lower than stock.

My wheelbase is approximately 109" now.

My driveshaft length is 51-1/8", measured from the 904 tail-shaft input to the center of the rear yoke, subtracting 1".
1) Car model/year wheelbase (see list below)(108" or 111")
2) Engine (small block/big block)
3) Trans (904/3 speed OR 727/4 speed)
4) Rear (7 1/4, 8 1/4, 8 3/4, 9 1/4 or Dana 60)
5) Your FACTORY driveshaft length

ALL lengths must be measurements from the center of the front u-joint cap to the center of the rear u-joint cap.

Adding my original setup for reference:
'71 Scamp (111" WB)
318/904/7.25
driveshaft length at c-to-c of u-joints - 54 1/4"

This isn't a factory length but these swaps are becoming more popular and relevant maybe for reference?
A508/46RH swapped from 727

67 Dart (111" WB)
5.9/360 Magnum/A508 46RH/8 3/4
driveshaft length at c-to-c of u-joints = 45 1/2"

Just for reference, center of axle shaft to center of rear universal or yoke for the 5 axles that were used.
7 1/4 10.09"
8 1/4 11.69"
9 1/4 11.69"
8 3/4 12.35"
9 3/4 13.47"
Okay one other fact I read in one of my books(which I can't seem to find the reference to it now) is that the early A body's had the engines set forward in the engine bay just like the early B body cars. I think it was around an inch, give or take, which would make the drive shafts for the 66 and back A body's about an inch longer for all combo's
This fact was confirmed when I gave the 8 3/4 rear and drive shaft that was in my 66 Dart( 273 4 barrel, 904 with a 70 8 3/4 rear when I bought it) to my buddy after I switch to a Dana, for his 69 GT convertible Dart that had a 7 1/4 in it. The drive shaft was to long for his Dart, he ended up getting 2 1/4 inches cut off the original 7 1/4 shaft to fit, mine would have needed at least an inch cut off of it.
