Most of it will be unseen probably 4 inches will show.
Keeping in mind that the bottom edge is pressed up against the carpet and will not be easily visible I would try the following.
Smooth out the pitted edges or remove them from the bottom, using a grinder or file. Then I would sand the piece with 80,180, 400 ,800. something like that to smooth the face. After sanding buff and polish with tripoli and white. to start and see how that turns out they might be something you can live with .
Can't hurt, of course you could just get new ones too . lol
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any new ones. Otherwise, I would have probably already sprung for them. Thanks for the tips.
I was searching for a pillar trim not to long ago and came across an outfit reproducing the extensions. The problem is that I don't recall the place. I'll dig through my history to see if I can find it. In the mean Time there is a seller on EBay who has them for 35 bucks new.

What did you use to mount the shoddy pad up underneath of the dash?
Two remaining questions.
1. I noticed in one of the early pictures that you used a engine lift plate that mounts to the intake manifold. Do you remember exactly what bolts you used to mount the plate on the intake?
2. Do you have any pictures of how you mounted your bucket seat backs? I have struggled with that seemingly simple task.
Your attention to detail on this build is fantastic.
Making seat belt soup.
Now I have to clean up the latches.
Seat belts lookin good!
Very nice. whats the recipe?
Nice work Al...When you made the seatbelt soup, did you protect the labels from the dye somehow?
:king: of details!!
Well the only thing I did different was not bring the water to a boil for too long. Once I go the water to Boil I turned down the heat pretty much stewed the belts lolI noticed when I dyed my seat belts that the boiling water warped the plastic housings around the retractable belts to the point that they would not function properly. How did you avoid this dreaded fate? I assumed I must have let the belts stew too long.
