AlV 69 Dodge GTS project

That's pretty slick!

Thanks!
I am making another one. Going to change the position of the inside support a little bit to move the control box in another inch and a half. This will give me more clearance from the inner fender.

I redesigned the MSD hideaway to get an additional 1.5" of clearance
:D

Check out the make shift metal break! LoL Cheap!

Looks like the aluminum glove box I made for my 68...
Cool!

Yeah I have a bunch of old sheet metal laying around. I've had it for 20 years, used to do HVAC and after the jobs were finished I brought home scraps. :glasses7:

still need to drill out the holes for the rubber vibration mounts and tack weld the seams.
Then prime and paint body color.

Body color will be better than black for your gorgeous car.

Just make sure you don't use that 2' level for it's intended use anymore its most likely out whack now :)

Finished up the MSD Hideaway.
Knocked off the sharp edges then hit it with color and clear.

Thank you Sir!
Well I have a few minor tweaks to make but here it is installed with the ignition controller.

Where is the big red MSD box?

Yep, that works. Unless someone is going for the 'I bought every part in the speed shop' look... I hate seeing a nice engine bay with aftermarket parts screeming "Look at me !"

Al, I just stumbled across your build thread a couple of days ago and have gone through the whole thing. You are doing some magnificent work and your documentation is very helpful!
Quick question that goes back a ways and maybe I just overlooked it. . . .
You mentioned that you destroyed the clear plastic sliders (mylar?) along the front edge of the door glass. I did the same thing. I didn't see in your re-install info where you found replacements for the sliders and the plastic clips that hold them in? Thanks and keep up the great work! L8r.

Yeah man. My goal is to make it look almost unchanged.

Thanks Man. :)
I picked them (window Channel Guide or Uchannel) up from year one I think catch them when they are running a 25 or 30 % of dale and you're solid.

Dantes, classic and others have them.

Got the stainless steel transmission lines in.
SS pieces from finelines

News!:
Just got word from Passion4Mopars that my wiper motor has shipped! Once that is installed the dash is soon to follow.

While I wait:

Check it out.. Getting to The new M&H engine lights forward harness.

But first I have to compare the old against the new to verify and find any missing accessories circuits or connectors. For instance the new harness doesn't have the AC harness so I'll make that.

I'm going to get new controls
  • Voltage regulator
  • Starter relay
  • Ballast resistor

I'm going to reuse the batter cables since are in good shape.

New on the left - old on the right

The wiper motor is not completely mounted yet but it sure does look pretty.

The motor cam with rubber grommets installed and I have the weird kind of busing on the mounting studs (last photo).

Do I still need the bushings? Anyone know how this goes together?

I pressed the bushings inside the rubber and snugged the nuts up.

I found that the rubber squashed with the bushings

That made sense to me anyway. Didn't even need my sledge hammer
