AlV 69 Dodge GTS project

-
So I've been working on two things.
First I'm having a cooling issue and I cannot seem to track it down yet. I am sureall of the air clear of the system but it's still giving me the business. Next I'll remove the thermostat,if I still have issues I'll pull the water pump to inspect it then... well I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

Second issue is an exhaust leak at the drivers side flange. I tried loosening the exhaust to re-tighten the flange bolts but no luck. it's still out just a little. Today I bought a new gasket and pulled down the mid pipe then installed the gasket and synched the flange into position. Looks like the gap is gone but the center to center measurement of the pipes for the midsection shrunk to 16 inches. I have to cut some material from the "H-Pipe" to line up the mid and the exhaust pipes.

I may be digging a hole for myself here ...

A new slip yoke from Denny's drive shaft ad 2 new moog unjoints, press then all together and Bam drive shaft ready to go back on.

I think I solved the overheating problem.
160' stat and burp the motor of air. Now she runs at 160 ish with 22' initial timing with 35' total 900 ish idle in neutral.

Al, did you press everything yourself or did you take it somewhere?
Put that sucker in and your ride will move and stop right? That's huge :burnout:
We're going to need the do the same thing for Misty..I hope my slip joint is the proper spline count for the transmission...

I've got a lil shop press in the corner. :)
Already installed, installing the gauge pack and shocks this weekend.

Trying to make the gauge kit look like it could be a dealer installed option

Do you disable the original gauges or doubling up?

Plans for a tach?
Definitely! thinking about putting one on the Column.
also, the temp gauge, amp gauge and oil light on the dash still work :)

Getting some sun after almost a year in the garage.

Keeping with the dealer installed idea, this is my tach choice with the red/orange needle. Pre 60's Sun green line.

I like the look of that Sun Tach.

I'm probably going to go with a SW tach for the steering column to keep with the SW gauge theme. Might need to get a POD for mounting it.

I'm also working on the glove box mount for the Bluetooth receiver and 400w amp.

Here's a preview.

I'm sure it will look great. Cant wait to see it! :)

More of the secret stereo build.Painted Black, Soldered the connections between the amp and radio wrapped with glue less tape.

These just landed!
Keeping with the old school look.
15x7 in the back
15x6 in the front.

Plenty of space for the tire

Very nice. I kind of wish I had gone with 15x6's in the front on my car, but I opted for 15x7's on all four corners with matching tire sizes on all four.
