There is always a possibility of getting a drone inside the cabin. It doesn’t always happen.
For a quieter exhaust, Dynomax turbo mufflers. Then Summit turbo mufflers for a bit more aggressive sound.
These two mufflers maintain the pipe diameter inside the muffler for maximum power return for your money.
Straight through mufflers similar to glass packs without that “Whap” sound (or seriously reduced) would be Hooker or Dynomax Max flow or maximum flow.
For a chambered muffler, Hooker Aerochamber. Very muscular sounding.
Tune into “Engine Masters” where Dave Freiburger has a cheap muffler shootout.
Glass packs or resonators before or after the muffler knock down a few decibels of sound pressure and take the edge off of the note. Remember, the longer the silencer, muffler or glass pack, the more sound deadening (quieter) it will be.
If you get a drone inside the car, a Helmhertz pipe can be added on. This is a pipe welded onto the exhaust pipe at a 90* angle of a predetermined length. Check YouTube videos for more information.
As seen above, glass packs before the muffler offer good sound control inside the car. The heavy gauge steel they are made of is very good at containing the exhaust note. They will also do well after the muffler.
