BIG wheelhop! Please critique my launch

Make sure your pinion snubber won't ride over the plate on the floor. I had that happen, and ended up breaking stuff. I bolted a 1/4" plate to the floor to give it more area, so it won't go around to far.

You can get the clamp kits at O"Reilly or AZone, its a 2 pack & around 15 bucks, if all you have on the front are the factory clamps Hum... (straps), they will not work, you need to literly "CLAMP" the springs tight, i would also try putting the snubber right on the floor with you in it, if clamping the springs, adj. the pinion angle, making sure the shocks are long enough & the rear shackles are angled right doesn't work, then i'd get some SS springs are C-tracs.

well the guys who work the counter at my local parts stores are quite the "tool" but i'll see if they know what im talking about..i guess i can just ask them for spring clamps (is that what they are packaged as?) and hope for the best...how many clamps per side do you recommend i start with?

Yeah i'll agree they can be tools lol, just go over to the spring kit section for trucks, they will have lift blocks, hangers, add a leaf, **** like that, then look for the "spring clamp kit", it'll have 2 complete clamps in it with nuts/lock washers (its a U bolt style), they will be in a package so you can see them, it won't be a box, i would start off with 2 packages, 4 clamps, i hacked off some of the threads on 2 of the U bolts so it was easier to tighten down with a socket, not really need if you have a 3/4" wrench, Now this isn't a fix, installing clamps is just a "band-aid" really & no garuantee it'll work good, but if it works or helps, if you don't already have them, i would install that flat plate steel like i mentioned above the springs & clamp it all down, this will help any flexing behind the front eye where theres only the 1 spring, try & get 1 of the clamps as close to the eye as possible but still clamping on the 2nd. spring., then put the other about the "mid" point between the spring purch & eye, so 2 on each side, i would still currect the pinion angle also, thats very important.

As i looked at your video a few more times, it does seem (like others have said) the springs are too weak & can't support the abrupt hit from the clutch, but WTH, try this out & see if it'll help, you never know 8)

Good luck using cal tracks with those cheap junk shocks.

I put a set of C.E's Slide-a-Link setup on my truck due to it having severe wheelhop on Micky's 33x21.5 street tires. They Worked!!
I was waiting for someone to mention the slide-a-link,
only because I imagine they ride a little better than a caltrack
and this I assume is a street car.
Anyone used them?

well took the car out for a test launch and sure enough the car hopped on the driver side, albeit not as bad...so the next step is to order up a set of the rancho 9000's for the rear and probably some calvert 90/10's for the front too just while im doing it...hopefully the shocks will be long enough and the adjustability is a plus

one thing at a time...if the shocks dont do it, then im going to have decide between ss springs or caltracs, or maybe ill try clamping my front segments first...we'll see what happens
