Yup yup. I still have one mystery bracket which remains homeless and the 69 service manual ain't helping much. However, even without it, all my pulleys appear to be in proper alignment. The waterpump and alternator definitely are.

pic?

I seem to remember one of my cars had a bracket that is a brace that goes from the back of the compressor to the intake.

I'd have to be looking at the motor and haven't been able to. Like to see a pic of someone's car with it in place.

looks like they used two different styles of idler pulley brackets.

See attached maybe it will help. Reference 24-25-45 . Or is there 2 idlers?

Incriminating evidence..

You took so many pics that you overlooked some!

Sorry as I was bored today and follow your thread religously!

Smile!

At least you documented it!

Nice documentation!!! You got a car with a great starting point. We almost share the same interior/exterior color combo. You appear to have red/white interior with red exterior. I have Maroon/white interior with red exterior.

Awesome job.

thanks, man. so much more to do and distracting projects have really stymied momentum but, have no fear...more to come.

And Gerald, thanks for pointing that out. Guess my thread is too long, lol. I went back to that page and also figured out whether it goes over or under the PS pump bracket. Once I put it in, I'm going to post up some photos at useful angles so other folks can figure out what goes where. I see threads about it over in the A/C and heating section.

...now where did I set that thing?

As promised: A/C bracket details, 1969 small block. (shown without compressor installed)

Nice work piecing that back together!!

Where did you source those water pump fitting from?

eBay. If I remember correctly, the seller was in Idaho. If have to look up his name.

If anyone needs a new (reman) gates water pump, selling mine cheep. Non-air only.

Dirty? The hell, you say.

Question (yes, another one) any of you guys recommend thread sealer on those heater hose fittings? Or just embrace that they're tapered threads and go with it?
