I do hear ya but pulling the headliner back could also produce unhappiness.

I'll just have to go at this smart-like.

Right now, I am just trying to get just the driver's side all finished up. First, so I can have one good side to look at in awe and, secondly, to apply any 'lessons learnt' toward getting the passenger side done.

Seem to have lost all of the clips which secure the long, "L"-shaped stainless trim in the cargo area. The search begins.......

Yesterday was productive. I polished all of my scuff plates, rear seat carpet edge strips, and the chrome trim that goes along the top of the vinyl door cards. Actually ran out of polish.

This morning, started by cleaning and spraying the kick panels. I may not even use them preferring, instead, some of those panels with the speaker mounts formed in but I'll be keeping these around, nonetheless. They were originally red, though you'd never know it from this picture...

They'll be done within the hour.

Now to resolve this little issue...

My "L" trim for the cargo area side panels and it's apparent lack of clips. No doubt the result of two moves during the build.

Thought I would try to make them myself. All I should have to do is bend some appropriately thick metal wire into shape and ensure they fit into this channel...

First prototype....but will it fly?

Fit is good...at least on this end. Final test fit has to wait until I have an actual Barracuda in front of me.

I fashioned it from that wire used for underground utility flags. I also tried some .041 stainless steel lockwire but I don't think it's thick enough. It definitely was easier to work with.

This is my clip 1278J $1.10 each

I ordered them here. I was missing some and the sound deadener/anti rattle stuff was fallen off most the others.

You are doing a nice job bending those!!! You have way more patients than I have!!

Haha...you know...I'm just gonna keep on bendin'. I've gotten enough done to do one trim strip so I think I'll just test-fit the lot tonight and, if all's well, I'll do another batch tomorrow. One thing I don't really need to worry about is the anti-rattle pads. Somehow, I think their purpose is nil when installing the trim over carpet. Plus, I figure 6 to a side is probably adequate.

Agree about the carpet!

Did yours have the vinyl on the wheelhouse covers like mine originally?

Indeed it did. When I sent those panels down for blasting the guy was like, "forget this". He was worried that he'd blast a hole right thru the metal trying to get all that vinyl off and gave up. Just solidified the idea to carpet them.

Yeah mine were to scratched and messed up, never mind a previous owner had cut 6x9 speakers into both. I welded in some patches and went with the deluxe carpet version!

Hides a multitude of sins, that carpet. Sad, so many people hacked 6x9s into those panels. Such a 70s thing to do.

Even when I was 20, and putting my old green 69 Barracuda together, I would hack neither those panels, nor the dash for Pioneer (and such) stereo stuff. I bought individual 6x9 boxes covered in black vinyl and loaded them with some Kenwood 6x9s. For the stereo itself, I took a carboard box - painted it black, and cut it out to house a proper AM/FM cassette deck. The whole assembly wedged nicely between the center console and the bottom of the dash. Ghetto, I know. But it never budged and getting to the connections in the back was a snap.

This time around, it'll be iPod-only with some 4" speakers mounted in kick panels with a sub enclosure in the back somewhere. But that is a looooooong way off.

I just use a Bose bluetooth box and the iphone works great!

I had a Bose system in the car with 4" in the doors and the trunk divider. When it was stored outdoors between 88 and 98 someone had broke in the car and ripped the whole divider out and took the fronts and the Formula S badge off the trunk finish panel. Now I leave it unlocked everywhere and just take the Bose box with me!

And hey...who do you like for seals and weatherstripping? I'm getting ready to buy the hood to cowl and rad support seals.

How long ago was this?? People steal 4" speakers in Cummings?

Sometime between 88 and 98! In thier defense they were high end Bose units probably 6" and they took the 500 watt amp to boot. The system was one of those pre-design with measured wiring that was like 12 gauge wire. Used to love pumping Hearts "Barracuda" song while drag racing just to get the oponents head!!

I used Metro soft seal. The trunk gasket has been an issue though. It wants to peel apart after sitting in the sun. Local guy here in north GA that sells it wants to look at it and fix. I will see him next week in d'ville, let you know the outcome.

I already have a trunk seal - just haven't installed it yet and hell if I can tell you the brand. I took it out of the bag and tossed the bag a long time ago. I do have a tube of proper weather strip adhesive to install it with, tho.

AND...my clips work famously! Did a test fit this morning as I was leaving for work and they snap right in and give a good amount of tension to hold the parts together. :D

I went ahead and ordered the cowl seals (both) from justmopar.com since they are selling the Metro brand, good price, and other folks seem to like 'em.

I also ordered (vansautollc) a speedometer cable. Really needed to do this a while back as trans fluid tends to drip out of the speedometer output when no cable is screwed on. I have an awesome pink puddle under the car :( The cable I've been holding onto is stiff as a board and is specific to cars equipped with......... ready? .........cruise control! It has threaded fittings at both ends. (The cuda takes a clip-on at the speedometer end) The guy who bought my cruise unit....you still here?

Anyway...got the kick panels painted black so I can use them until I order up the ones with speaker mountings.

Negotiating for some SBP Indy Slots, powdercoated black (which I'm less than thrilled with), and 14x6 front, 14x7 back...with fresh 245 series tires all around. Deal made sweeter by the fact that the seller wants my stock steelies. Can't think of a way to get some wider rubber this cheap!

Last two days were good ones. Got into the rear seat area sidewall stuff. Pulled the glass, cleaned and lubed the window lift, installed the window felts, the metal trim panels, and the vinyl door cards. Basically, got it all put back together so that the rear seat assemblies can finally be repatriated.

Here's some crappy phone pics of the progress-

Door panels from legendary.

Panels, trim, windlace, and a smooth rollin' window.

Cluttered workspace.
