YES some of them will be ground out and re done. The one I think you are talking about REALLY bothers me. For some reason the welder got jumpy (maybe the 50' extension cord) and the wind picked up. I will deal with that when I get the car into a shop.
In the mean time I got the front side markers in place as well as the hood pins/locks. I had to set the margins for the front cap in order to set the pins. I will post a light scheme view maybe tonight.
Other than that thanks for the compliments guys.
MT I will call you, I just wanted to get the rear seats in place to see if I really needed the small driver or if I could use the 8" ones I already have.

Your work is both creative and very cool, you give me so many different directions to go with my build. good job FABO brother and great build. I look forward to your future thoughts and ideas.

The coilovers need to be tightened to raise it about an inch but I think it looks mean.

Thanks for the compliments, its a little easier for you guys to see the direction of the build now.
Im assuming that the front will settle when there is an engine and a tranny in the car. The front will have adjustable coilovers as well and the stance will be fine tuned. In the mean time the 200# springs in the rear are not stiff enough so a set of 325# springs is on the way.
The things by the tail lights are antenna mounts with the clips I use to hold the tarp on the car.

this is the latest version of the hood scoop. It now follows the contour lines of the hood and has sloped sides rather than straight up and down. Its just screwed in place for now, later it will be welded and blended into the hood.

what are you gonna do for the cowl induction box???
 
I have a design for a selectable cowl induction/ram air similar to an "Air Grabber"
Thats why its just screwed down right now:toothy10:

I like the way it fits in with the whole attitude of the build from the side picture. I'm not quite sure about it from the front because of the angle the picture is taken from, but I bet it looks wild from about 15' off the front end and level with the scoop front.

This thing is really going to be unique when you are finished. Keep the **** coming.
 
After moving the scoop that far forward, Why not just extent the bulge in the factory hood? As in, raise it up and match the contours, rather than add the scoop? since you will be molding it in anyway.

I really did not want to destroy the original front lines of the hood.
In the mean time for those following here:

So I used the sail panels from a 72 in my 73 car. When I went to put the plastic door tops in place to get started on the lower door panels the combination looked like crap.
Nothing lined up and the more complex lines of the 73 clashed with simpler lines of the 72 . We all know the 70-72 dusters had integral metal door tops built into the doors.
Soooo, more unplanned metal work.
I had already made a homemade metal break for the hood scoop, I cut the old scoop up for the metal stock and fabbed up the passengers side top. It took all day so tomorrow the other side.

For those of you following here:
I got the shop turned back around to wood working, so the rear console was first.
Because I have gone to alot of trouble to insulate the trunk from the passengers compartment, sticking any sort of speakers back there makes no sense. Come to think of it sticking speakers back there never made any sense to me if you had a back seat.
Also while I will have a very nice sound system, I will not be putting thousands of watts into this small space.
I have aquired 2-6"x9" triaxiels for the package tray, 2-4" Bi's to replace the 4"x10"in the dash, and 2 -4" Bi's for the door panels, Im not inclined to put speakers in the kicks.
All of those are fairly straight forward.
For the Sub-Woofer frequency range I will be running 1-6.5"MB-Quart. For you speaker guys it has an Fs=34Hz.
It only takes 150Watts RMS, and will out perform 3-12" 150Watt speakers.
One of the things I have been doing for the past 20 years is designing and building large front of house systems say for 250 people and up.
The secret to getting great sound, is efficiency.
There is a design called a folded horn that if built correctly will produce 5 times the SPL at 30% of the Wattage using a conventional box.
Now there are folded horns and there are folded horns, what makes one efficient is the lack of square corners and a proper horn flair for the frequencies desired. The ones I build are based on a design called "snails". A pair of subs for large venues takes 60 hours to produce.
The single cabinet I made for the car took 16 hours.
They are a real PITA to make which is why you cant go out and buy them.
Here are the pics, first is the pile of parts for the one box, next is the bottom, then the throat and duct assembly, then one side with the bottom & back attached showing the gussets for the corner pieces. the next three are views with the final side missing and then one of it in place.
I will paint it black, cover the exterior in carbon and put a padded arm rest in place in between the seats

Awesome work on the Blue Missle!!! You are very innovative in the way you have approached your build and that car will be unique but cool at the same time. You will have a one of a kind when it is done. I have been following your build thread for quite some time and decided to post up a thumbs up for you. Good Work Brother!!!! Really nice that you have posted what you have done in such detail.

Ditto what he said - no offense but what you just said sounds like what Charlie Brown hears whenever a grownup is talking, "Whaka whaka whaha-ta" :toothy10:

But I can't wait for the sound clip once it's done. I hear what your saying and basically it's going to rock and not need too much Wattage to do so and sound sweet.

HAHA! I kinda Got the Acoustics part.. But electrical always seems a mystery to me. The only thing that would worry me is a loss of quality from "amplifying" or "expanding" the sound like that. I might be way off base though because acoustics are not my area of expertise.
