17 years old...1985 w/ my then girlfriend.
My B5 blue 72 Demon, in primer, before the Plum Crazy paint went on.
318, auto / console, deluxe interior..
70 / 71 scoops and a 71 fender pulled from the local bone yard.
Smoking the tires (brake torque..lol) at Car Craft Nationals, Du Quoin, Illinois, 1989?
A few more.. My buddy wrecked his Challenger showing off in front of some high school cheerleaders doing a car wash benefit at the gas station. He took advantage of the water from their wash, got on it, and promptly kissed a telephone pole. We had just filled up with gas on our way to cross the state from St Louis to Kansas City to see the Monster's of Rock Tour in 1988. He and the people in his car had to load into mine after the police report and tow, and off we went. Great concert, by the way..!
Another of a couple buddy's helping with the fender install and some lower quarter patching..And finally, my best friend (R.I.P.) sitting on my hood when it still had some B5 blue, watching the the cars and girls go by at the CarCraft Nationals in Springfield, Illinois, 1984. We were both 16, got up that morning and had nothing planned that day.. I jokingly said, "Let's go to CarCraft.." So, he got his older brother to buy us plenty of beer, loaded the cooler and drove about 4 hours(sober) and set up camp. Another great memory for me, especially since he's gone now.

That all sounds pretty familiar. I was 17/18 in 1985 and lived West of St. Charles out highway 94 a ways. The crap we got away with back then…

Love it! Went to the CC Nats in Du Quoin twice myself, but never with my own car. Can't remember the year, but the last time I went it was hotter than Hades, and people were pushing their cars around the grounds to prevent overheating, and the asphalt was sticking to their tires. And their shoes. Too damn hot for me, never returned.

Had a lot of fun, though!

Very cool pics!!

Do you still have the car or the girl??
I know the whereabouts of the girl...we've stayed in touch.
I sold the Demon in 2005.
I looked for it for many years, unsuccessfully. Bought a Demon in 2021..This year it'll finally see the streets..

Francis Howell class of 1985. We lived near Cottleville. I'm sure we ran across each other a time or two. Maybe on the football field. My brother was two years behind me and is still in the area. He was one of the first houses in the New Town development. I can't believe how that 94 corridor has changed. Blows my mind

I lived in St Charles around 80 -81 on Droste Rd. Remember street racing on South 94 from the new Wihte Castle burger joint.
Earth City express way. Ya, could get away with a lot of stuff back then

I don't think so Al. Not ringing a bell. But I'm terrible remembering names. Need to dig the yearbooks out of the crawl space to put a face to them.

First plate on my Dart was one of the Missouri Mule Red ones like that. Brings back memories. Now bring back the mammaries.

So many changes around here... Lindenwood College has REALLY changed things with all the land grabs they've done.
I work out of Cottleville.

You probably go past my subdivision (Timberwood Trails) on the way to work. Right across the street from Francis Howell Central. None of that was there back then. The Blue Diamond bar was on that section of property and it was a real **** kicker of a bar. They put on good turkey shoots though. I used to hunt most of the property around there but it's now all subdivisions and Target stores.

Use to go every year. Haven't been in years. Now that I finally got another car I think I will return. Have to admit I always had fun

Boy, y'all are youngins. In 1985 I was a major in the USAF stationed at Little Rock AFB teaching students (2 at a time) how to navigate in C-130s on 10 hour overwater missions. One student was in the seat from Little Rock to Key west via a 5 hour route in the Gulf, and then the other student got in the seat for the trip back. That was before GPS so I had to navigate with celestial and pressure navigation to check their work and instruct them at the same time. That made for a long mission. Then I had to grade all their work and debrief them the next day.

Wow !

Pre GPS knowledge is priceless and old school navigation needs to be ingrained into the minds of our youngsters imo.
