Bottom End Shocker Build

-
As long as the air flow is there between the heads and intake, the compression ratio can be afforded to be a little low. More the merry of you can, but being limited in more than 1 area can be a killer. The combo can not be compromised to many times and still meet the expected desired results.

If it needs to run on pump gas, get what compression you can.

Some funny angles going on…. Heads also hit the 300 mark around 600 lift….

Looks like the push rod holes will need to be sleeved….a couple of them just don’t have enough material left after porting… I’m concerned that they may crack when the heads are torqued…

If it does, you’ll know, it’ll smoke like a SOB!
Just do what Pittsburghracer does.
Worked GREAT for me.

Will likely do aluminum round stock with a couple of thousands interference fit...and drill them out after

Okay after a bunch of testing the heads are done…for sure this time…intake numbers are below…keep in mind it’s getting a cam with lift in the low 600s…so the plan was lots of flow in the mid lift…
100-71cfm
200-148.8
300-212.4
400-262.3
500-291.6
600-296.7
700-297

here is what you said they flowed ootb...

Lift. Advertised. Flowed.
200. 142. 123.3
300. 202. 188.9
400. 251. 236

Nice gains:thumbsup:

Any idea how much bigger the port is now?

Did they break through at the pinch?

Ports are in the high 190 range… and a couple of ports did break through on the pinch

That .400" number is almost hard to believe. Wow. Well done. J.Rob

I guy I know did them for me…he told me he made a hundred trips from the grinding table to the flow bench testing them

Super Vic intake getting some love today at the secret mid Canada head porting facility…

More junk trickles in… at this rate I should have it on the dyno in 2023

At least I don’t own the machine shop… they have a bunch of engine builds missing one or two parts of each one

Some of you weirdo’s may be interested in this port mold….

Pretty fancy valve opener.

Looks like the bench is a model “SF-450”....... first I’ve heard of that.
I looked up the specs........ nice unit.

Nothing but the best for our site members…the bench was updated with a couple of extra motor’s for flowing heads up to 750cfm…you can see the right chart on the side

Well I don’t own the one in the pictures…the guy doing the heads normally does Harley heads and engine work…he has just been entertaining himself with my Promaxx heads while I wait for parts to show up

Not so Super Victor getting touched…. These things are likely a bad choice if you don’t work it…

Did some mocking up today with the block and heads… checked push rod clearance to the now installed tubes…. Found out I need a longer push rod to be sure everything works…

Did some more mock up today now that my adjustable push rod showed up…heads will need a bit of clearance work where the pushrod hits the tube…intake will need some work perhaps a bit of milling to get it to line up…valve covers hit the intake where they cast in the injector mounts… so pretty much everything needs some tweaking
