Brought home a 71 Duster

The only thing that I can see that has to go is that intake manifold and that's only because it won't clear a ac compressor
vintage air makes a bracket that will clear a sanden compressor. but *only* on the eddie air gap, not the knock off. classic makes one too.

or BPE makes a kit. or CVF makes a kit. or convert it back to magnum serp kit. or nab all the stuff off a late 80's early 90's LA that the mount incorporates the alt & compressor mounts.

Ordered in 4 new tires for the duster. 205/70/14’s off Walmart.com $56 a piece with free shipping. The clapped out white walls gotta go. I have several sets of wheels and tires all big bolt pattern for later on. For now originals are staying. I’ll try and start this hell fire tower of power this weekend.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm Jelly. You aren't that far from me and I would have grabbed it too.

I'm sure she will run.

Haha! They are still out there, in fact she still has a nice 80’s aspen for sale.

Bring a trailer, $8500 cash not a $1 less. No questions/hassle load up this 71’ Duster. LOL!

I put some of those cheap WallyWorld tires on my Duster. The Red Heeler likes to chase and grab a tire. Flat the next morning!! Patch on sidewall and it still holds air...till the damn dag grabs it again!!!

What is a red heeler a dog? Or some local demigod only Texas.

After mounting these tires and getting it running this weekend. I need to come up with an exhaust system from the muffler back. Any cheap manifold back systems out there you guys are aware of other than TTI or accurate exhaust they are nice but too rich for my blood I think. I may just find a cheap muffler, weld it up and come up with a tail piece. I do like the idea of stepping up from 13/4” pipe to a 2” or evening 2.5” pipe all the way back if the price is right.

I can't wait to see them on your car. I recently had a debate in my mind and out loud on fabo on what size I should put on my 74 duster.

P205/75 R14 or P215/70 R14
I had the same struggle. I just settled on what I could get fast and cheap. A fellow local to me has 14” rally wheels, he needs to see if they are the SBP or LBP. If they are the 4” I might snag those up over the stock steels and hub caps I have.

I have heard good reviews about that brand of tire you got there. I hear those are smooth and quiet.

My last tire run through walmart got me the Douglas brand. Again, no one is going to beat walmart's price and it's a Goodyear sub brand. I've had VERY good luck buying tires at Walmart.

There was a tire a few bucks cheaper, lionhearts I think they were called. But when I compared the two I like the tread pattern and over all looks better on the Lexani. it was $12 more on the set of 4. So I hit the go button.

It looks very complete.

Rob I’m impressed with this one it hasn’t been messed with from what I can tell. The interior is in nice shape too. No pictures yet because the floor boards are full of water. So I do need to pull the carpet and clean the mildew up that’s growing everywhere. The history I got was it was driving by the grandmother who was a retired Marine nurse. My guess is she was very particular and took good care of it before it was parked 5 or so years ago.

Great looking car. I rolled this one down the hill a couple of weeks ago....

Maybe I missed it...what did you end up paying for the Duster?

Yall should leave it a slant if it runs. Perfect first car. Easy to work on, parts are dirt cheap and it'll get good mileage with a good tune on it.
