Thats most of the worst, just a little snagglier than I hoped but I dont see a deal breaker yet. Looks pretty sound but I want to see what Mike says. He should be looking on wed.

Things that dont work/blower/speedo/odometer/headlight doors. I see the aftermarket sound system and wonder about hacked wiring.

i don't know if it's just me being a cheap *** and bristly about the (to me) gigantic price tag, but non-op stuff that's super important like speedo/odo, or dead easy to remedy such as the blower motor, and specific and unique to the vehicle like the headlight doors would not only drive me crazy but question the rest of the work that's been done to the car.

those aren't deal killers on their own per se, but would make me start peeling back hundreds or more off the top for ticky-tacky stuff like that. along with the whole: well, if you couldn't be arsed to fix that what else did you cheap out on, cut a corner at or just totally ignore.

and yeah, i totally understand the wide chasm of there are X amount of chargers and the market is doing Y right now, so this is rate and all that. but it's something that would be in my mind.

and the hacked wiring. that would be number one with a bullet.

I think the faults are very trivial at this price point. I can honestly say I have never used the heater in any of my cars. If there are any undercar pics, look for the speedo/odo cable. Maybe need a new cable? Maybe it's not engaged at the speedo gage. You'll need to get the headlight doors squared away. There aren't many of these cars left that haven't been monkeyed with at some point. Unless there's something lurking we aren't aware of yet, I would say that's a good Charger buy at that price.

Judging by the engine bay pic, looks like orange paint peeking thru the green?
Did you get a pic of fendertag?
The flaws appear minor, and are negotiating points?
Good luck!
Is it possible to use escrow like someone mentioned?

The paint chips are just proof that the car has been driven and should continue to be. The issues with the non functioning speedometer and other items are certainly negotiable points IMHO.

I have never been to a Mecum auction, but people that buy there tell me, that even the high $ cars, the buyer will almost always made some corrections/changes to even the best cars.
If you actually drive a fully restored 60 year old car, it will obviously show some wear. somewhere.

Just bought the car! Woohoo! Thanks for all the help and advice everyone!!!!!

I think you would honestly feel and sleep better seeing that car in person. Dropping that much money deserves an in person visit
