Buying from afar

While you're in there Wayne, I wonder if you could get a template of plastic gear? @Dana67Dart is doing 3d printing and would probably be pretty cheap to make?
Thank you so much. Was looking for a youtube video or something for a heads up and you just gave it to me. Opening that puppy up is my next step. What did you use for lube? I have some synthetic wheel bearing grease I was thinking of.

Interesting tidbit for yall. I posted on FBBO at the exact same time, there have been 23 replies to my post here and I'm still waiting for the first reply there. FABO ROCKS! Preciate you all!

Now the surprises begin. Headlight relay wasn't working for some reason.

Worn out internal limiter switches.

Just received a replacement speedo cable. Hoping its the cable causing the speedo to rattle and jump, although the PO was not gentle with the speedo. We'll see.

Cleaned up and bench tested the relay, functioning like it should but the aftermarket led headlights may be causing some electrical issues.

Speedo was disconnected when I got the car, so its just a simple matter to reconnect it. right? Reconnected it and its jumping all over the place. I previously posted the speedometer was only held in place with 1 cross threaded screw when I got the car, so unknown history behind that. Anyhow I just installed a new cable today, thinking try the cheapest thing first. Guess what, still jumping so its the speedo. Leaning toward replacing it rather that try to rebuild. Under the best of circumstances I'll have a slightly cross threaded housing and a used but rebuild speedo.
