Clifford Performance

Oh, interesting. I have never seen a Slant-6 intake with coolant plugs, leaky or non-.
Might have came from somebody who added the coolant box to the bottom of the intake where the "heat riser" section is, details lost in the anecdotal chain........

I have had several issues since Jack died and Larry took over the company.
They talked to me like i was an idiot. I mean dangit, we all know I am, but if I'm tryin to buy somethin from you, the least you could do is lie.

Fully operational Clifford water cooled/heated intake.

I've never had issues with Clifford either.

That's because I've always bought their parts secondhand and never dealt with them directly.

Yup. I bought my Clifford shorty headers from @valiantpatrol on here and I'm plum tickled how much they added. Plus I didn't have to deal with jerks to get them. lol

I'll never know, I can't afford their parts even used.

Wanted to pop in and say my grandpa, Jack Clifford, died in December 2001. If youve got any questions feel free to DM me if youve got questions, though ive never been involved in the company deeper than packing and printing order stickers. I was a kid when i did that though for fun and to hang out with my family after school, im 30 now.

When Jack owned/ran the company things were good. After he passed the "crap hit the fan". I don't know exactly what happened, but when Larry started running the company things went downhill. If you have any influence with Larry, tell him to stop lying to customers, and listen to them when Customers who know their vehicles/engines tell him he is wrong about what works and doesn't work.

Well I bought a pair of Headers from Clifford for my 1974 225 slant Duster, and I love them. Work great!

You were just a young one when your grandpa died. Clifford is a good product. Be proud of what your Grandpa did and how you helped.

I met Jack at a SEMA show a year so so before he passed. He invited me down to his shop/warehouse when it was in So.Cal. What a cool guy, took time to show me around and helped me with what I needed.
I was green about Slants and told him what I planed. He simply said build for torque, not RPM.
I took his advise and spent almost 20 years drag racing my Dart all around the country.
I will be getting a 72 Dart this spring and yes it will be a Slant. I have most parts for the engine but headers.
I am cautious about ordering headers from them because of all the bad press.

In general headers are one of the better products. I have a set bought used, that has the collector welded on somewhat crooked. But I had to modify the headers, anyway for a 170, so not a big deal. I would contact Larry, and make sure he has them ready to ship, before paying for them.
Then there is also AussieSpeed. I have a set of their "long tubes" but they hang pretty low on a 170. Don't know how they fit on a 225. All my experience is with a 64-66 "A" body.

My set from Clifford for my 1974 225 bolted right on. No issues at all. Everything was perfect- nice thick flanges. I used a Rem-flex gasket. They don't hang to low.

Sorry for your loss.

The Clifford "shorty" headers do not hang low, It is the Aussiespeed long tube headers that hang really low on a 170 engine. I like the Clifford "shorties". It is just that they are not made for the 170 engine, in the early "A"'s. I have to modify them. The front collector will hit the steering box.
I don't know if Clifford is any better now, but in the past they might not have any in stock, but take money from people until they could do a production run, without informing people that there would be a delay.

This may be a rumor so don't hold me to it. TTI makes the Clifford headers.
They only make a run of them after Clifford meets the 25 minimum .
I heard this years ago.
