Any interest in a dyno shoot out of a few popular SBM heads?

Thinking of building a 408 or 416 dyno mule, and testing some currently available SBM aftermarket heads. I have in stock a shelf of speedmaster bare castings I will personally port, a few sets of prepped W2s, and would be willing to include any other available heads if someone wanted to loan a set. Especially a set of the BLOOMER heads. Just a fun wintertime science project

Your poll shows Yes No on both choices. lol So, yes, I am interested.

The parameters would be a well prepared 408 or 416, forged pistons, 11-1 compression with a nominal 64cc chamber, solid roller in the 250-260 @.050 range duration, .640-.650 lift, and a rpm target of 3500-7000. The questionable part will be trying to keep intakes and headers similar enough to not skew the basic trends

sounds like a fun winter project, maybe you could get your hands on a set of John/PBR full ported Speedmaster heads. I don't think anyone's had those on a dyno engine.

Would love to see this. Would be awesome to see ported SM vs. ported W2 vs. Promaxx shocker CNC vs. trickflow …and bloomers if a set could be sourced.
Haha. One can wish right?

The promaxx cnc and ported SM might be redundant since they’re both the same casting.

Sounds like a nice project.

I would be willing to test any set of heads, if someone wanted to loan them for the test, would be returned afterwards.

I'm old, grumpy, and not very computer literate, but I managed to correct it!
Yes, yes, yes and yes

Ha, speedmaster needs a good set of heads to digitize for the SBM porting. Seems they lost their file. Although I hate them for the BS that happened with my purchase and the blatant rip off of others work.

I would love to see direct results of a standard port LA head against some W2's. With that comparison you could use Victor intakes for both. Or even kick it up and run tunnel rams on both! Oh to dream.......

I would like to see a W2 with victor vs pro dominator vs m1 dual plane . Curves should be wildly different.
I have yet to see any M1 dual plane performance results .

Dyno testing heads??

Baaaahhh!!! Waste of time :p

Obviously, I’m in.

The hard part will be coming up with a plan that doesn’t require 500 runs and countless hours of dyno time.

That's one issue, is trying to keep comparable intakes across the board
This will be a really big task on your part and I would hope people would be reasonable if the intakes were not a perfect match. So do what you can and most of us will simply appreciate the effort. I hope this happens and I will be following along.
