What a ya mean, that's a 150 mph tire.Yep, don’t drive on them.
As soon as you hit 150, you get a vertical takeoff from the tire exploding, early prototype flying car. What a ya mean, that's a 150 mph tire.
I didn't think T/A's were around in the 60's, learned something new.

Opps too late, went up the block at 5 miles an hour, thanks for response!Yep, don’t drive on them.
Neat old tires. But the real question is were you able to get a photo of the rest of the sasquatch?

sorry, they were made in the 26th week of either 1967, 1977, or 1987....if I had to guess 1977?
I suppose they could have bucked the industry norm and put a 2 digit year (which wasn't required in the dot date code until after 2000)....but my guess is still the first 3 characters of the DL2267 are a mold cavity identifier, the next 2 are the week (26th week of the year), and the last the year, so you can't be sure if they're from '67 or '77. still older than I would want to drive on.....So They are 47 years old instead or 56?
Nah i'm going with 67 My advice is don't believe everything you read on the internet just because its there doesn't make it true.
For sure, the theory they were 67 was pretty cool tho.I suppose they could have bucked the industry norm and put a 2 digit year (which wasn't required in the dot date code until after 2000)....but my guess is still the first 3 characters of the DL2267 are a mold cavity identifier, the next 2 are the week (26th week of the year), and the last the year, so you can't be sure if they're from '67 or '77. still older than I would want to drive on.....
We used to race on oval tracks on those belted T/A’s. We would first go into a warehouse and pick out the freshest ones. Then we would take them to a retreading facility and grind off half the thread. The guy who ran the grinding machine would have tears in his eyes. We would also soak them every week in tire softener.Belted ta’s were
