Herman from the Netherlands here.
Bought my current daily driven A-body in 2011.
The '73 Dart had received a nosejob earlier, but has been outside in the weather for some 6 years after that.

After the purchase I had about 1 month to get it roadworthy and decent again.

Hi!

I'm Nicola from Derbyshire (UK) and just bought a 1972 Dodge Demon. This is my first American and first LHD car but had lots of classic British cars (MGs, Triumphs, Land Rovers etc.) and a few German (BMWs and Porsches) looking forward to going to some events next year and starting the new adventure. :D

Here's a few pics:

Had to look dart Charger up...didn't know ma Chrysler had used this name before...

They are quite unusual. After I finished the restoration I had it shipped to US for Mopar shows. The car did quite well. Wish we had that judging process here in Europe too!

Hi folks,

Hi all,

We have several a-bodies here in Holland. In the 60ties there was an assembly plant in Rotterdam.
Because of the bad weather and salty roads in the winter, not many are left. Many are imported from Switzerland and USA nowdays.
Me and my brother have and still owned many Valiants the past 10 years as a hobby. He still drives a '64 Barracuda, I have a '64 Valiant 4 door and a convertible V8. We owned a '65 2-door, '64 2-door and a '66 2-door and parted out a 64-4door.
I do know many people here how own a Valiant or Dart. But very less are active on the internet.
They have a collection or keep it as a sleeper. Many drives it just 2 times a year, like me :pale:
I have a lot of sparepars and sometimes helps others with fixing their cars.
Also there is a car register here by a fanatic I know, but not online. The problem is, this cars are cheap and most of the time a step-up to a fullsize V8 or racer. Eventually an a-body ends up with a lot of previous owners
and contact is lost.
But there are a few hardcore fans, like me, and keeping them many years.
Once a year we meet at the Chrysler meeting, but always in a little corner next to the full-sizers...
Sorry, not many pictures yet on this new tablet. One nice picture of my brother.
If I don't forget, I will post a few extra pics.
Happy driving!

Jonathan

Although I don't reply to each post I am still following this thread with much interest. And judging by the number of views, I am not the only one!

I am amazed at the quantity and variety of cars and countries represented so far.

Thanks to all who responded. I know there are others out there, so keep them coming!

Hi,

I'm from South-East Finland. My first A-body was -71 Dart with 318 engine. That was 1989 if i remember correctly...
Now i have one old Cadillac (GM), one old Ford and ofcource one A-body MOPAR ;)

So, i have a -70 Duster. It's repainted everywhere, undersite, outside, inside... New interrior and all bushings, bearings, seals etc are new.

Rear end is Strange S9 with 4.11:1 gear ratio and with Detroid Locker. Gear box was a A-833 but i'm working right now to install Tremec TKO600 on it. Yesterday evening i installed it with new rebuild engine. Clutch is RAM dual Force with aluminium flywheel.

Engine is 340 stroked to 416cid. Eangle forget crank, Eagle H-profile rods. FB Icon forged flat top pistons. All cylinder block work is done and every inspections we did carefully.
Camshaft is Hughes STL6064AS, .050 lift 260/264 duration, .615/621" lift.

Full ported Eddy aluminium heads, flowing 304cfm .600 lift. Intake is 340 Victor, ported as well. 1 7/8" 4-2-1 Headers with 3" rear exhaust and X-pipe.

Carb is QuickFuel Q-850AN and ignition MSD 6-AL programmable. So i have launch retard/delay, shift retard etc with this box. And i have MAP-sensor connected to MSD box, so i have virtual vacuum and mechanical timing with mechanical distributor.

Gents,

I'm from Basel Switzerland. I've owned and restored many Mopars over the last 35 years. We have quite a large community of Mopar fans and lovers in Switzerland. As many of you might know there was an assembly plant in Schinznach back in the 60's. That's why we still have a lot of Mopars here and of course in whole Europe.
There is an annual Swiss Mopar Nationals usually held beginning of July in Heimiswil near Bern. If you need more information please let me know.
If you want to see my latest project, you will find it under following link:
68 Barracuda Convertible 452 cu.in. 4-speed
I will attend Mopar Nationals Switzerland and Germany with the Cuda this year. Looking forward to meet you there.

Marcel

Hello all! I've been here since 2009 and I never seen this part of the forum before. That's whacked. I'm from a small town in Sweden. Currently living in Stockholm. I have a 1970 Duster that I've owned for 10 years. It's my first mopar, well it's my first American car too actually. I have many friends who are car enthusiasts too and many of them love and own mopars just as I do. But I kind of like most old cars to be honest. In my signature is my project link!

Just to add to the fun, without pics as I don't have access to them right now. Will post some later...

Driving a 71 Dodge Dart Custom in Switzerland (bought this year), yeah one of them final assembled in Schinznach. Stock 318 2bbl whit a few go fast parts already waiting to be installed during winter time. The previous owners added electronic ignition, took care of some rust issues, added a lovely sounding dual exhaust and a few other parts. And I managed to forget the gas cap at the gas station already... :p
Oh and yes, it's a four door car which some apparently frown upon but man it comes in handy when dropping off my little girl at kindergarden - and the other daddies with their Audis, Beemers and whatnot still jealously try to ignore us while we rumble off... :D )

A photo for you of my 4-door 1975 Plymouth Valiant. I've had looks from Ferrari owners on the A1 in Switzerland.
