Factory fuel pump

I am thinking you might have Somedata(alldata), rather than Chrysler FSM in print like these or its just that I only get the left handed FSM's out here on the west coast which are all screwed up due to all the people smoking legal weed while printing manuals. Anyway, its a mute point as my time is much more valuable than to spend it arguing with somebody that knows everything. I am guessing that you cant bench flash a pcm meaning you can write code with Diablo software but have no way to access root code? sorry but I am not interested in trying to prove myself to somebody my kids age that knows everything. If you want to know who I am, google backwoodsoffroad.com. I am well known as THE jeep V8 swap guru and well respected in the magnum engine community. I am not trying to pick a fight and didnt tell you you were wrong, just was trying to help a fellow FABO member out for free with good info. I am well aware that there are at least 2 different fuel pressure requirments depending on year. I would never recommend the wrong part to a customer or FABO member and will often check FSM on things like fuel pressure when they call or order for hemi. Everybody that orders a fuel system gets a personal call from me to confirm parts are correct. If you want to chastise me, try a PM rather than public kick in the nuts. I still believe OP was talking early 5.7 which could be either pressure, correct?

I'm not trying to bash you... as we need great vendors like you who can provide the products. I'm all in for supporting those who support us. However I can't sit idle and hear misinformation, etc. Like proven above all 5.7L and 6.1L Hemi's run at 58psi +/- 5psi. This is found in all FSM's.

I also took a look around and found a few posts you made and found this picture of your fuel system. The regulator found here looks very, very close to the Corvette regulator I purchased from Tanks, Inc about six months ago. Your fuel system posted above looks exactly like mine but I'm sure I paid more for it. :(

Anyway do you have a website to see your products and such?

Thanks,

Riddler

No harm no foul, the filter/reg is a jeep part we sell for the magnums and early hemi swaps that require 48 lbs. I need to check an 04 as the 05 says refer to 04. The 04 might very well be 58#. I have not dealt with any VVT or multiple displavment hemis either as you cant easily install one in a TJ. Myself as well as AEV and hotwire all deal with Hemi TJ's (wranglers) which all run factory wrangler pump. never had a problem and guessing they dont either. They also use facoty JK pump which is for 3.7 V6. I will admit, these guys are not flat out drag racing and you dont often spend a lot of time at full throttle in a wrangler crawling on rocks but its hard to ignore thousands of jeeps running hemis with factory pump. Like previously mentioned, anything larger than 5.7 or big hp 5.7 might need more, thus the 60+ psi filter/reg. We do sell both BTW. The other thing is that if the lower pressure one isnt cutting it, its $29 to upgrade to 60+ psi and will swap without mods. We are on the net at magnummopar. or pm for info. Have a nice relaxing evening :soapbox:

Everyone makes mistakes but you're too good to simply admit it and amend your applications for the good of this forum and your customers?

2004 and newer Hemi fp is 58psi without a doubt. 2003 isn't so clear. So, as a matter fact, I did looked up the 2003 Hemi calibrations and sure enough the injector characterization data is similar to the 2004. So this whole notion of "early-Hemi"= lower fuel pressure just doesn't hold water.

I'm thinking a Hemi in an A-body isn't crawling up over a rock just off idle, so maybe the fuel demands are slightly different, yes?
Again, I tune 400-600whp engines every day and losing 10psi of fuel pressure at WOT is a BIG deal to a calibration. Again, if an aftermarket EFI is used, the lower PSI is not a big deal unless the injectors are over 80% duty cycle....But if the STOCK PCM is used, imo, it's an unacceptable mistake.

I have full PDF copies of factory service manual for the 06 LX, 04 DR Ram, 03-04 PL and PT. They're all stored on my Google drive if anyone wants a copy, just say so. Here's the 2004 Ram's Powertrain Diagnostic manual which I posted pics of teh pressure spec 58psi +/-5psi:

btw: Might want to 2nd guess your source, it seems to have trouble with a simple unit conversion,,,34Kpa is ~5psia not 2,,, always has been
(fyi: I'm 43yr, a Mechanical Engineer and have been tuning Srt-4 and Hemis for 10years)

Those are photos of FSM with my cell phone so source is Chrysler factory. So you are 10 years older than my kid, I have been building Mopars professionally since 1980's and am not trying to argue with you, I honestly took pics of the 2004 and 2006 truck FSM and posted them. I do know that the "early" truck 5.7, which I have experience with, had same pump as 3.7 and 4.7 engines. That was in Rams and Grand's . Pretty sure it carried through on some Durangos too. This is just personal experience from working on them and building them. I have built hundreds of magnum engines and not a lot of hemis but have tuned quite a few. i know a considerable amount about flashing ccd and pci buss pcm's. I would be happy to have a discussion about flashing V8's and would enjoy the conversation. I value others opinion/experience when it comes to computers, cams and fuel injection. My background was computers and mechanics so I am very interested in what others have to say. I have worked with most of the Chrysler programmers in the country in the last 18 years and still deal with a few several times a week. This aint my first rodeo....
