Father-Son 1974 Duster Project

-
Wood floors are pretty, my house has the original oak ones from 1908 when the house was built.
The wood work in old houses are amazing with what little tools the craftsman had to work with back then.

And we have standard issue Mrs DusterDaddy paint colors going on the walls. Starting to feel like home already. View attachment image-1002549814.jpg Wood floors get their last coat of poly this morning can't wait for the fumes! Super psycho paint detail for the bedrooms on Sunday followed by a family Valentines dinner at Barnacle Bill's Furniture goes in on Monday, final set up on Tuesday, first night in the new house! Then the the major renovation begins.....

Nice work! Good luck with that. I just finished my lot plan. Surveyor out and hope to have all elevations and utilities marked on the plan by the end of the month. Then it is on to outdoor construction one piece at a time.

Well I got us out of the pods, pets home, floors done, bedrooms and TV set up.
Now to catch a breath...

I hate that my car is in storage

Nice! Yeah, but the wait can be worth it! Especially now before it starts to really warm up!
But you've given me inspiration!

There is a very high chance that I'll be looking for a new home in a few months.
This will be my first time officially shopping for a home, first VA loan, first time I can call a place my own!
Tired of living in rentals, barracks (before I was married) and military housing.
The rental I'm currently in, I'm sick of it, I hate most of the neighbors, its right next to a very busy road and I've been a constant victim of drive by eggings.
The detached 2-car garage is about the nicest thing I like about the house.

I was excited about shopping for a new house until I found out that my lovely 44 yr old wife is pregnant. We already have a 4 yr old boy.
I didn't think she was going to get pregnant that easily, but the fact that I'm younger at 37 years old might have something to do with it... Who knows.?
But it was a nice surprise, a little bad timing but that's ok, children can be great! Maybe it'll be a girl this time to balance everything out. (I additionally have two step-sons at 18 and 20. The 20 yr old I can care less about, my mother-in-law spoiled him pretty rotten, and is an ungrateful turd) the 18 yr old has some hope...
Oh well...

Another distraction! My son just picked up another dirt bike.

The seller lived in Ohio. He dropped the bike off at my moms place in Columbus.

If anyone travels between Ohio and Jersey and wants to make a few bucks by delivering Aaron his new bike to Jersey from Cloumbus, let me know.

Got his bike here using U-ship.

LOL keeping reminding yourself.

I have to remind my self every day not to get too excited and rush but rather slow down and do it right.

You're right Al, Damn it!
This car would have been sent sent to the crusher by many. Aaron and I have gotten it a long long way from the days you could drop a basketball through either side of the front floor, not to mention the trashed motor, trans and the rest of the rotted body...

I think she's going to look solid under the hood with all the stock or stock like accessories on the motor and the firewall and inner fenders.

I'll have the garage put together at the new place soon enough then we will move her back from storage and we will get back at it....

Are you going to build the garage yourself or contract it out?

Misty is still in storage and will be there a while I build out my renovations to our new house. Aaron has been stripping the cedar shakes off the house.

I had the itch today so I ordered the Bosch gauges and fan blades I wanted from Jegs...
