Father-Son 1974 Duster Project

I need that. I'm not having any luck finding one.
I saw a reproduction on Summit Racing that looked the same for about $100
I got the one shown for $25 plus $45 for the packaging and shipping. So the reproduction from Summit isn't a bad deal because they ship any order over $100 for free....

You know the part # ? Also did the new rear shocks do anything to your ride hight ? I was thinking about getting a set. Air shocks suck !!

Mopar Performance P2998326 Fan Shroud
The rear shocks maintain the ride height and I love the firm feel. Overall suspension upgrades I have done while very modest in cost have made the car stay flat while corning.

I need a softer ride. I feel every bump. It like riding in a wagon. My springs are wore out thats why I have the air shocks for now. Was a temporary fix.

I can honestly say my interior is pretty complete. We put the rear 6x9 speakers in months and months ago. A very good decision was to get the kick panels loaded with alpine speakers from classic industries. I have the high school era Panasonic am-fm cassette in the dash for nostalgia. For the real music we went with the Pioneer X390 in the glovebox and the Memphis powered nanoboxx 10” sub under the front seat. I just sat in there and rocked out for over and hour still shaking my head about the $200 pile of rust we started with 8 years ago and even though it was tough at times, it’s real nice to have come this far....

$200 is a cheap buy in price, the hard work looks great.
Enjoy driving the wheels off of it.

I like to play iheart radio on my Bluetooth when driving. There is a station that plays old top 40 count downs from the 70s & 80s.

I'm going to pick up some of the kick panel speakers too. Did they come with Alpine speakers or Pioneer? How do they sound D/D? One more question for you- did you get the horn to work on that Grant Wheel?

Alpine speakers. The horn button works great with the stuff that came with the kit

FYI, I checked those metal pieces on sides of headliner. There ARE 2 different ones. And...mine are on reverse of what they should probably be. The cut-outs do not line up with the upright. LOL

If it matters, the first couple tunes played were:
1. Back in Black. AC/DC
2. Hell’s Bells. AC/DC
3. My kinda party. Jason Aldeen.
Killer sound system for raucous guitar bands!

Back to the important stuff
I hear over and over that Edlebrock carbs are the way to go if you don’t want to fiddle with it. What would be a good one for my mild 318?

Its really not much more then a good carb. $800 for the 400hp kit. Carb is what $400-600 ??

D/D, I think the Edelbrock 600 would probably be good for your 318. When I bought mine they gave me a free air cleaner with it. D/D just got my Grant tuff wheel. When you bent the turn signal handle, was it easy to remove. When the steering wheel comes off, is it right there (access) or do you have to dig into the column a little?

If I remember correctly you pull the wheel take the screw that holds the turn signal switch out, pull the switch a little bit then you can get at retainer screw for the handle.

When I was playing around with my old column, I put a screwdriver behind the turn signal arm and just bent it right in place. I didn’t wind up using that turn signal arm but I guess you can bend it right in the car like that. It does not put up much of a fight.

Yeah it’s the 600. I’ll need to get an angled inlet and some different pump to carb line stuff and then I’ll pop it on.

Eddie is in the house!
Start up tomorrow, don’t want the Mrs yelling about noise tonight....

They are not kidding when they say Edlebrock carburetors are ready to run and run right, straight out of the box!
