Flexplate orientation/Transmission to engine mounting?

Seems drilling and tapping two holes in that bushing would be easy. Then just use a puller.
Great idea.
I ordered that Lisle 55600 tool. Should be here tomorrow. If it doesn't work I'll try the drill method. The Lisle website says it's for brass and bronze bushings not steel. I'm pretty sure the bushing is cast iron so hopefully it'll be able to bite a few threads.

Well a little fun and a bit of brutality = success.

Someone on Facebook posted a bushing removal that looks just like what you ended up doing.

My bad!

I'm thinking it might be beneficial to drill & tap these bearings prior to installing them.

It would not need to be a big thread and you could use the bolts to press the bushing out rather than slid hammering it out .

So it was definitely an easy hook up after removing that pilot bushing. Thanks all.
Sticking with the whole transmission hook up, would anyone have any pictures of these engine to transmission brackets? I have two sets, I believe there is a difference between the 273/318/340 braces and 360 braces. They are different lengths. I removed one set from a van with a 360 and one set came off my Barracuda 318. I think the passenger side is interfered by the oil filter. Maybe I need to use the oil filter adaptor that points the oil filter rearward?

Don't bother with those, they aren't necessary. One of those cases of Mopar over-engineering, like the goofy reverse-thread lug nuts.

It looks like you are putting together a four wheel drive truck application, so I would put those brackets back in for added support against flexing.
Not sure about early trucks, but the mid 70s and later trucks don't usually get the oil filter angle adapter. The right side bracket is usually formed or shaped to clear the oil filter. Just try the ones you have and see what works. If it fits it ships.

I will attach pictures of what came off of my 89 Ramcharger, 360 LA with 727 transmission, and no oil filter adapter. It appears the left side bracket is a little shorter than the right side bracket. This was a factory original setup as far as I can tell.

Not sure of all the hype here. I have always used a small cut chisel and cut a slot in the bearing and picked the bearing out. Sometimes I may have to cut two slots.

They are also used on the B200 and B300 Vans, not sure on the B100's. I have them on my B300 with a 70 340 attached and a short filter fit with the brackets on. A longer filter will hit the frame.

Interesting I got mine off of a B300. Also one set is from a 318 definitely one is shorter in length though. Can't remember which came off of what, I think the ones painted blue were from the 318.

My Duster had them originally, been off for at least a decade and haven't had any issues. I believe my D200 has/had them but I may have removed them as well since adding headers. Would be nice to know exactly why those were implemented, from the Chrysler engineers.
