Amazing able to finally get car back and get it restored. Very desirable car '71 340 that color combo. Gonna be so much fun to drive it too.
Thanks! I don’t know a whole lot about it’s desirability. I was told that 71 was a good year. I’m happy to hear that! Yep. I can’t wait to drive it!Amazing able to finally get car back and get it restored. Very desirable car '71 340 that color combo. Gonna be so much fun to drive it too.
Thanks a lot!! I can’t wait to hear it run!!!Car looks spectacular!!
No way. That’s so cool!! I had a guy recommend them to me, initially. Then I asked around a bit and nobody really had anything bad to say. So I went with them. Car is being built in Saskatchewan, but I wanted engine and transmission rebuilt close to home. I’m case I have any issuesBeatty and Woods built a 360 for me back when I was racing in the late 1980's
I’m actually going to drive to his house and take him for a ride in it once it’s done.
Thanks so much! Ya, tough when you regret selling a vehicle. I have a couple I’d like back!I like it! Beautiful car and a great story. Wish I had my '70 back.
Ha. Yep, here you go! I know nothing about engine builds or what any of this means, but maybe you guys will! Looks like it’s saying 385 hp to me. I’m sure he said 395 when I picked it upHow about some build details on the engine
The car builder is doing the whole build. Other than the engine and transmission. Hopefully he does a good job of the interior. If not, I know a guy who lives less than 5 minutes from me that does the best work I’ve seen on upholstery etc. But I’m hoping it turns out great the first time!Who is doing your interior?
That's awesome. Thank you for sharing.Ha. Yep, here you go! I know nothing about engine builds or what any of this means, but maybe you guys will! Looks like it’s saying 385 hp to me. I’m sure he said 395 when I picked it up
I’m sure hoping he put a cam in it. I told him that I wanted that done….for the sweet sound of it. I see “lunati cam kit” listed at the top of first page. Not sure if that’s considered “putting a cam in it” or not

You bet! That's awesome. Thank you for sharing.
That’s awesome to hear! Thanks a lot for the input. So that cam kit is considered “adding a cam” to the engine then? I told them I wanted that lumpy kind of muscle car soundNice engine build, the cam is a nice step up from stock and you’ll like it for the muscle car sound. And 385hp is no joke in an Abody. It’s definitely enough to get you in trouble.
Thank you!Very nice car and great story. Welcome from WI. In 2018 I found my Dad's 1971 GSS Demon from when I was a child. It is a great feeling to have it. My story is down in my signature. Congrats. Car looks great.
Every engine has a cam (at least in the realm of stuff we’re interested in) and upgrading a cam during an engine rebuild is common. The lunati “cam kit” he ordered and installed is a cam and lifter set (you don’t reuse lifters on new cams so they sell em as kits) and is a well know street grind cam from a reputable company. It’ll sound good, make good usable power, and not be so rowdy that it’ll eat valve springs or require a ton of maintenance. That’s awesome to hear! Thanks a lot for the input. There’s a link below his screen name. Click on it. If you’re on a phone, turn it sideways and it’ll show up. His story is awesome as well.Thank you!
Wow, that’s awesome! How do I find the story of it etc? I can’t figure it out. Not sure what down by signature means. Thanks!
