Guns, Dogs and Blades QnA

i remember you bragging about ordering it a little while ago

its a handsome gun
Thanks. I have to put purchases like this on layaway and my last payment was today. Our Deputy Chief of Police owns the gun store in Gray. It's a neato little store. I'll try to remember to get some pics our next trip into town. It has cool hardwood floors and wood accents everywhere like a store out of the old west.

aint nothing wrong with layaway, shoot, if people would use layaway instead of credit cards we may not be in the mess we are in now

sounds like a cool store, if i ever pass by that way i will check it out
(we will be in pigeon forge for spring break, but that is still 5 hours north, so it may be a while)

I’ve been wanting one similar to that for a long time. The only one I can afford at the moment is the .22 though.
I have that in the Heritage Rough rider. 4.75" barrel with dual cylinders. .22 and .22WMR. It's a nice little gun, but the fit and finish pales in comparison to the Cimarron. The Cimarons are actually produced by The Italian company Uberti. They've been known for high end firearms for a long time. I had a Beretta Stampede in .45LC years ago made by Uberti. I should have never let that one get away. I've wanted a large caliber again for a long time. I got the .375 Magnum, because I already have a Rossi revolver in that caliber.

Gray Station Firearms is the name. We are extremely fortunate to have the owner, Chris Williams as Deputy Chief. He brings a lot to the table. He's a fine LEO for sure.

Well, it's an old school Cowboy gun, looks wise anyway! Single action, or double?

Man, That's Sweet! It IS OLD SCHOOL! I never knew they had Cowboys in GA, But, Rednecks fall under the same title, lol
Ha! It's really old school. It has the firing pin made onto the trigger. I thought they had all moved to the transfer bar system, but they have not.

Wow, I'd have to get Your and /or Sublimes approval, to make this statement, but my mind tells me, less moving Parts, just more better, Simple and Reliable...

They are great pistols, I shoot one in each hand simultaneously at multiple targets when I compete in Cowboy action shooting. In fact I won State Championship with a pair last year. Nice rig Pard!
I knew you did the cowboy competition shooting, that's just kick *** Man! Single action too, that takes some skill Sir!

Have you ever heard his definition of stance? He is classic! Spoiler: if your feet are on the ground and your pistol above you are in a good stance! i always think he needs more coffee tho! Hah! I love his videos!

He and I trod some of the same ground "Back in the day" When you come by I'll fill you in

Anyone here use Truglo sights? I like their version with fiber optic and tritium and am thinking of giving them a try on my new carry gun. I've only ever used Trijicons before.

I dont
I believe I considered them (or a different type of glowing sight) and the issue was always "charge time"

My weapons are always holstered or in the safe

Neither one of those scenarios provides enough natural light to charge these glowing sights so when if I pull it out at night it will not glow

My mindset remains "what do you want to do?" For me with old eyes, fiber sites offer some increased clarity and ease of front site acquisition.. during the day. But if I want a night sight I'm using a no-kidding low visibility solution (laser, red dot, flashlight etc)

I always run a front tritium sight on my carry pieces. XS Big-Dot are on my Kimber. Same on my USPc. The rear has been changed and blacked-out, now.

There is no charge time, tritium always glows, well, for 7-10 years at least, it doesn't have to be 'charged'. My trijicon sights are always nice and bright, right out of the safe.

Good to know, sounds like I need to look into them
