Guns, Dogs and Blades QnA

So here is my loyal EDC, the 45 brass is for size reference. And yes the yellow really helps at night when you drop it in the pasture!

That be mine. I can deploy and un-deploy very quickly. That push button has been very dependable. Gerber

The blade is under spring tension. The angle and serrations on the thumb stud makes it quite easy

I have one like that too. What I like a out this one is that I can un-deploy it with the flick of the wrist too. The assisted need to be "cocked" for the lack of a better word. I tried a video but it wont load. Anyway if it works for you, that is all that matters.

I think I know what you're talking about. The button releases for both opening and closing by gravity. Cool

I dont know if it ever went into production. It says pre production right on the blade. I got it from my BIL. He's a supervisor for Gerber. He gives me some cool stuff.

Looks like the Gerber 06 style... but the Auto and the Fast are a little different... I think there's a lock "safety" on the auto?

That's cool if it's pre-production.

I've had assistant opening knives before but found it unnecessary

Even my really cool Herbertz knife, which is as old school lock back as they come, can be opened and closed with one hand within seconds

In fact, I remember one day being at a BBQ, chatting it up with some resident cutters and of course they all had thier God complex and I'm just a hillbilly machine operator
Then one of em comes out with a tray of sausages asking if someone has a knife

I had my knife out, the package open and the knife put away before they even realized it

And they all looked a little different at me after that

Pulling the pig off of the pit on 4th of July a guy asked for a knife. Now being a special occasion the knife was sharp. I warned the guy and he just scoffed at me as he shaved part of his finger off. Lol.

My boy musta been 8 or 9 when he wanted to buy a knife
I told him fine, but he'd better be careful because they are sharp

We get home and I go to take a shower
About 5 minutes in I hear him holler "dad, do we any bandaids?"

I've always accepted the concept that a sharp knife is safer than a dull knife.

Didn't get his "Totin Chip" beforehand huh?

Life lesson

This has been a really good toolbox knife. Made in Pakistan. Very tight after years of abuse. Says falcon on the handle. Probably won it at the county fair a hundred years ago. Lol

My latest acquisition. That folder has a titanium body. I dont care for the unfolding of it.
